2025/26 Michael Keane

Yeah I think across the last 12 months, even pre-Moyes, the only real stinker I can remember was when he came on unexpectedly for Tarkowski v City and anyone could be caught out coming on cold v one of the best attacks in the country.

In terms of genuinely poor games he’s probably had among the fewest of anyone in the last year or so.
Yes. He looked rubbish when the whole team was. Without the right blend any player can look exposed. It is a team game. People forget he was often a MOM contender even when we were not very good. He is not a worldbeater but he is decent and a reliable footballer. I like him.

Thought he'd won lots of MOM awards not just a contender? Changed your tune with some facts presented.

Yeah, that's why him and Young were leading the team in mistakes and mistakes leading to goals, because he was basically faultless.

That goes without saying.

But anyone thinking this fella - after eight years of calamity - is suddenly maturing into a reliable defender will soon be disabused of that fanciful notion.
Course he will. He is a 4th choice backup, what do you really expect? We aren’t signing prime Maldini for 4th choice. But he has done a damn good job of it so far.

Nobody wants prime Maldini for 4th choice, they want someone who wasn't averaging conceding 3 goals a game when he was playing, let's not get into hyperbole like other posters do.

Played 5 games this season and conceded 3 in total. I’m not too bothered what he managed under the crap managers before. The decent manager we have now (like the last excellent manager we had in Carlo) has him playing decent football.

And the point about maldini isnt about wanting him, it’s more the point that who are we realistically signing at 4th choice that we know is going to do a better job. Afair, the Craig Dawson got mentioned multiple times. What a laugh that would have been.

This season. And as said multiple times, its fantastic having the upturn in form. But everyone should be surprised by it. Anyone would have been a better option. Im glad its working out.

Genuine question, what is the 3 goals a game stat? I’ve seen it mentioned quite a few times but I seem to have missed the actual facts. Is that really what we’ve averaged over his time here? Surely not?
