New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Anyone got the soccer bus that goes to Kirkby back post game? How many run?

Would be much better if they had a bit of a timetable or even just one additional that left say an hour after after the final whistle.

Wouldn’t mind having a pint and the heading back on it but the whole ‘until crowds disperse’ thing means it’s improbable to time
I got on the Kirkby bus v Brighton. After 25 minutes it had moved about 30 yards. We got off and walked. Walked to County Road on Saturday and the first one came past me by the Brick 1 hour after game. Scotland Road buses are ridiculous. 2 every half hour already full of Town shoppers.

Just watched the first 10 minutes of the Full 90 and I can see how there are different views on the noise levels. The TV microphones give a completely different view to the actual live experience, over-emphasising the away support (who were relatively quiet) and seemingly showing a subdued Everton crowd. Actually being there (SW Upper), I thought the atmosphere in the first 10 minutes was pretty good (and for much of the rest of the match, apart maybe from a spell in the second half).

Believe the empty blocks of seats is due to club selling these seats on to those companies that sell packages. Is absurd how many pockets around the ground there are.
Surprising really because I'd have thought places like the south stand was entirely general admission only and every one of those tickets went to either tenure or the waiting list.

I used to sit in the Upper Bullens and the Villa fans were always loud.

The other day they were loud at times but there were large periods where they were silent. Obviously due to them not scoring in their opening 4 games.

Always seen them as a bit like the Geordies though. The types to take their tops off when 4-0 down to show how loyal they are. Their song book was a bit lower league as well. Wasn't impressed by their support at all.

Thought ours was good for that type of game. Goodison only used to be bouncing for the massive games or end of season ones that had any significance.

Third time for me in my ST seat on Saturday and I love it more and more each time. Where we are in the upper SE we've had no bother getting a drink or food each time we've been. The E bars are spot on for Guinness and have never queued for longer than a few minutes (granted I've gone down a few mins before HT each game).

There's then plenty of space in the corners parts of those concourses and a TV to watch the game. Although on the pricey side, I've been impressed with the quality of food and drink. The whole experience is absolutely night and day compared to where I was in the Main Stand at Goodison.

I feel for those in club View though. I have family and friends who sit there and it sounds like an absolute nightmare. When you consider the premium they've paid it needs really looking at and putting right by the club.

And for anyone moaning about the atmosphere, give it a bit of time. People are still familiarising themselves with their surroundings etc. At the minute there's a definite disconnect between the upper and lower south, often with numerous different songs going at the same time. When it has got going though, it's far louder then Goodison ever was.

My ST is half way up the upper South, i havent thought the atnosphere has been that good.
On Sat I sat in my dads seat, front row upper West and the South sounded so loud. Alot louder than when your sitting in it and way louder than the Gwladys or Park End did from my old seat in the top Balc.

What! Two ropes front and back and maybe two scaffolding planks to get on and off? £100 tops!

I’ve spoken about the positives of the new ground. It’s an incredible experience and for all of the talk about the exterior being spectacular but the interior being “generic and disappointing”, I can honestly say hand on heart I was just as blown away by the inside as I was the outside! I have to book three days holiday to make a weekend of it and I’ve no holiday left to book this year but I’m already scanning the fixture list to return from January onwards.

But, there’s always a but isn’t there! Goodison kept popping in to my head numerous times throughout the day. My usual routine is straight out of Goodison and back in to the Winslow to ATTEMPT to buy another pint in a pub packed to the rafters.

I got an uber to the Winslow, and my heart sank. It was like a ghost town, Goodison Road somehow seemed darker and poorly lit, and when I entered, there were TWO people in there. To see it go from being a hive of activity, singing, chanting, and not being able to move an inch or get to the toilet, to seeing it practically empty was heartbreaking. I’m not ashamed to admit I shed a tear but that may have been because of all the free beer I crammed in at HD! That probably didn’t help.

I had a slow walk around the ground as well, and again you could have heard a pin drop. All the legends over the years removed from the sides of the ground, replaced by pink and purple wrap for the Women’s game. Spare a thought not just for the Winslow, but the others such as the Royal Oak, The Brick etc, who have suddenly lost their vital match day income which they probably relied heavily on.
I think I wrote about this a while ago. Everton really in my opinion should have re homed these pubs. I mean really it’s great that these places have popped up opposite the new ground, the blue room, the terrace bar etc however I do think Everton should of approached a few of the old guard pubs and offered them something. It’s easy to say when it’s not my money I suppose.

But say Everton approached the Winslow and said, right, there’s a plot of land opposite the new ground. It’s 400k to buy, we will buy it, you relocate the Winslow, and you can rent it back of us however we also make 10p on every pint you sell for 100 years, I don’t know I’m not a mathematical genius or anything but I think the surrounding stuff should make Everton money.

Imagine that row of buildings opposite the ground now. All Everton owned. All kitted out. In a row, the Royal Oak, the Winslow, The Brick, The Spellow.

All news, all with their own features etc etc but Everton owned, but relocated.

I missed the Brighton game because of work, so Villa was my first league game.
I think the atmosphere was very Goodison-esque. One of those games where a goal would have lit the blue touch paper.

It’s going to take a while to sort itself out. Like others have said, you’ve lost the Gwladys block because of the way the club gave access to tickets and people who liked the idea of being behind the goal for the atmosphere but seemingly not wanting to contribute are mixed in there.

To me, it felt full of tourists, but I guess loads of people are getting their first experience and there’s probably a lot of ticket sharing. The novelty will wear off soon.
It’ll rock for the big games. We’ll just have to find our feet for the rest.

On Saturday there was about 5 939s queued up waiting for fans and the bus journey back took about 10 mins.

The bus journey on the way is a different story, that was about 45 mins, though only about 20 mins v Brighton.

I’ll stick with it because leaving the ground has been great with this route.

Presumed they had to go the same route as everyone else.
Do they have a bus lane route?

I was always shocked when I sat elsewhere in the ground to the Street End how quiet everyone was. Even for big games so many just sat in silence for the majority of the match. You throw a lot of those people behind the goal into the South Stand and it's bound to make for a strange atmosphere.

We need a big win to the get stadium rocking and almost remind ourselves what we're capable of.
