I've just come on here this morning and voted for Keane as MoM. Colour me amazed to find he's top of the poll, I thought I would be an outrider. I picked him because he seemed to be actually wanting to score!

The referee was atrocious, trying to be the centre of attention and making it a stop-start game with yellow cards being flourished at every available moment.

Though it was a decent game of football with both sides cancelling each other out.
Villa defended well , but we didn’t create enough clear chances.
The few chances we did create Martinez save well.
There were a few occasions when we could have been a little sharper in attack , and players hesitated a bit too long on the ball .
But overall no complaints.

Felt the same.

What massive progress though where we felt we should have won with a bit of luck and/or sharper finishing.

Under Dyche we would have been desperately holding on for a point against a Champions League chasing team.

What a difference a year makes, really solid game against a good side. Should have won it really.

Still missing a clinical finisher that’s evident. Though on reflection I don’t think Beto’s chances were as easy as they looked at the stadium. Keane, what’s happened and who has replaced you? Arguably best player of the season behind Grealish and Ndiaye.

Thought Grealish was trying a little too hard to make things happen yesterday, held onto the ball longer than he needed to a few times. Hard to keep up with the amazing form he’s been in.

Also a quick note. Villa are by far the most snide horrible side in the league by some distance. Cynical fouls, whinging, and time wasting that made the total ball in play time feel like 15 minutes. Real nasty side under Emery, unlikeable bunch.

Yes agree, constant nasty challenges let go by the appalling ref. With a top striker we would have won that..but Villa were good I like Buendia. Crazy playing Tim over Alcaraz, a far better baller .

I thought overall it was a very good performance. Keane has really turned it around this season and I am happy for him, he has taken a lot of stick. It is a game we deserved to win, but unfortunately we have no reliable striker. If we had, we win by 2 or three goals. Beto, though a Trier is absolutely not premier league standard. His habit of smacking himself about the head after another fluffed chance is hilarious.

100%. I liked the way we pushed up for that free kick at the very end with Pickford launching it in from near the halfway line. Under Dyche he'd probably have been back in his goal with one of our midfielders passing the ball back to him to run the clock down. It was also strangely refreshing to see how Villa (Martinez especially) were keen to waste time from the very start such was their respect for us and they seemed satisfied with a draw from pretty early on.
