Lack of a goalscorer will hold us back, the fact that we spent 30m on Barry and he's worse than beto is not so good
2pts dropped here and there is going to cost us big time this season. Going to stick my neck out and say Barry will never make it as a Prem striker same as Beto. Brain and movement don't combine. Prediction - Won't get 10 goals between them this season in the league.

Getting into the swing of things now — a different kind of football experience off the pitch, and today felt very different on it too.

Moyes’ tactics were spot on: let Martinez have the ball, let him panic. Worked a treat. (Even if the anxious lad behind me kept shouting for something else every five minutes…) Thought we put in a very strong performance — and while I’d love to say we made Villa look poor, truth is they didn’t need much help. Really poor showing from them. How they nicked a point is beyond me. 3-0 wouldn’t have flattered us.

Keane and Garner were standouts for me, but credit to the whole side — everyone put in a shift. I think the criticism of Beto is a bit harsh, to be honest. He offers a threat Barry doesn’t yet, and he doesn’t hide. The goals will come.

As always, every player gave 100% — which should be the bare minimum, but I doubt Villa fans would say the same about their lot. And by the way, KDH puts in one hell of a shift. Absolute engine.

Oh how I enjoyed my first visit the HD. Truely magnificent stadium. Shame about the draw, we really could've/should've had the three points today.

Also big thumps up to @atrottel @Mashtray @arch stanton @Morag and @Groucho for the meet up. Good to put a few new faces to names, or just meet up with old ones.
great to see you again Belg, safe trip home tomorrow, x

Looked good today except for the finishing. :(

If we stay healthy 5-6th is a good possiblity (FA not letting Chelsea and/or MC finish outside the top 4).

Still, makeshift backline and we've 2 cleansheets from 4 which should be 3, and we're creating chances all over the place. Sadly the lack of a striker will cost us about 5 places this season. We'll probably be European places in terms of chances put on a plate, but end up about 10th-12th because our strikers are absolutely awful. Imagine spending £30m on a younger version of Beto—I want to know who sanctioned that.
