Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

probably a bit late to this but just seen his name on the squad numbers post. what do we think about Harry Tyrer not getting a loan this year? Seems strange that we’ve brought in two back up keepers and not found him a club. Feels like it could be a bit of a waste of what could have been a pivotal year in his career
It is very odd. To be honest, I assumed we would sell him. He's been out on loan three times, he's 23 (I accept that is still young for a keeper but not crazy young) and is out of contract next summer. Not really sure what our plan is for the lad. I'm not sure a year in the age groups leagues is good for his career at this point. Maybe we'll release him?

Yeah it does feel like it must a weird one for any youth keeper at a prem club because (especially us) they’ve not got a chance in hell of getting game time with us, but at the same time it must be a good experience being around players like JP. Do wonder if even the young lad George Pickford will ever get a sniff or if he will suffer the same fate as Tyrer. Very much a sort of 10-15 year cycle if you get the right player early as we did with Jordan

I think it's incredibly difficult for goalkeepers in the youth set ups as they seem to mature later. There aren't too many top level teenage goalkeepers that I can recall, for example. I'm sure part of that is that only one keeper can play in a match and it's not like you can play in another position like an outfield player and so opportunities to learn on the job, so to speak, are more limited but then that is what loans are for. I don't really understand the plan for Tyrer, especially with the big lad from Wolves being brought in (King I think). Surely Tyrer could have been used as third choice keeper? I would have sort of understood if we brought in a Begovic type character as third keeper, a very experienced PL player with lots of playing experience at the top level, but King with his one substitute appearance for Wolves being his only professional appearance above league 1 level? I don't get any of it.

Can't believe people were happy with no additional striker being brought in. Beto woeful, Barry nowhere near ready. We'll throw away so many points as a result of this, sadly.
It's a shame because Beto had a couple of decent chances and a couple of half chances. If we had a top striker we would have won that match today. It's tough though because strikers have such a premium on them now, look at how much Isaak and Gyokeres went for this summer, that I feel like we have no choice but to try and develop someone getting ven our budget.
