Villa had way better stats in the games vs Brentford and Palace and were unlucky to lose, especially by 3 goals to Palace.

I watched them against Brentford as I was in a bar in Portugal. They were absolutely dreadful and Brentford had countless chances to finish them off on the counter.

I want more of this.

For sure, the first game at the new stadium was going to be a one off, a unique atmosphere. The performance broadly lived up to it, bar some nervous back four moments.

But when the second goal went in against Brighton, I unloaded. Unloaded in a vocal cord destroying manner the likes of which I don’t remember - missing the Tarks goal out of the country - but also mentally, shedding many years of the same old fear. Not even the first four games under Ancelotti dispelled this same old fear.

As Avanti West Coast wing me closer, the same old fear is safely tucked away. Villa are sound, despite their start, and I’ll reluctantly take a draw if I have to.

But I want more of this. We must have earned it. We must have. Bring it fkn on.
