No need ...yet that will happen later....No they’d have sold him to Brentford or Bournemouth for £30-40m

About as much as you. But keep banging the drum about our 'failures' if it's how you feel.Where you involved like ?
Why from day one it was a very bad idea being around Jack Grealish in training would have helped him .... Preston what a coincidence - Wrexham , Blackburn , & Derby in for him ....
The other lot never let their young winger go out on loan did they they have more sense .....
Joe Royle Vaughan played at 16 years old age should not matter - my main point you need to blend someone like Harrison Armstrong in gently - he has been out on lian plus Captains the under 19 England team IMO he needed to be playing in training & cameo roles which would be better than playing for Preston NE - it's my opinion & I will be proved correct if injuries crop up around the Afcon internationals! He is still a child, he is not going out on loan …

Joey it’s 2025. Unless the kid is obviously a generational talent as a child like Rooney the club should (if they don’t already), have an obligation to ensure kids have a full education and a decent entrance into the real world because a hell of a lot of them don’t make it in football.Joe Royle Vaughan played at 16 years old age should not matter - my main point you need to blend someone like Harrison Armstrong in gently - he has been out on lian plus Captains the under 19 England team IMO he needed to be playing in training & cameo roles which would be better than playing for Preston NE - it's my opinion & I will be proved correct if injuries crop up around the Afcon internationals!
There will always be some good players who we let go because we don't think they're good enough. Happens to all clubs.Should have improved his contract instead of an old past it keeper more like - WBA have just paid £ 2.5 million for him - no need to put an headlock on him - just an improved contract at that time it would have cost no where near £ 2.5 million ....
He's not ready mate. You have this weird fantasy in your head that he's the second coming of Steven Gerrard but it's based on nothing other than wishful thinking. Hr was ok at Derby (occasionally completely anonymous) and didn't do much for us in pre-season. There's no evidence at the moment that he's anywhere near the level of the players who play in the same position as him and the people who watch him day in day out obviously feel the same way. Throwing a young forward on for a few minutes at the end of a game is far less risky than putting on a central midfielder.Joe Royle Vaughan played at 16 years old age should not matter - my main point you need to blend someone like Harrison Armstrong in gently - he has been out on lian plus Captains the under 19 England team IMO he needed to be playing in training & cameo roles which would be better than playing for Preston NE - it's my opinion & I will be proved correct if injuries crop up around the Afcon internationals!
Death, taxes and football fans wildly overestimating how ready their youth prospects are for top level football.
Maybe it's worse here tbf because this city has seen the two best teenage talents ever in the prem (possibly ever in this country?)
True - bout in our current youth system only DCL lately had a run in the first team until injury - not many youth players have got a sniff - over the last few seasons we have been down to the bare bones of a squad - I am not advocating they will all make it , but they don't even get on the bench when we have two keepers on it - in the past ....There will always be some good players who we let go because we don't think they're good enough. Think Salah and DeBruyne at Chelsea. Palmer and Rogers at City.
You could argue that we can't afford to make those kinds of mistakes whereas the likes of City and Chelsea can get away with it.
I would counter that by saying that mistakes are impossible to avoid.
