Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, it’s been a busy couple of days with my wife but I can relax a bit now and hopefully get some sleep. The doctor texted me saying she was pleased the colonoscopy showed clear and that the hospital didn’t need to see me again, but she’s now arranged for a more local hospital to get in touch to give me an ultrasound scan before we meet up again. It must be costing a fortune, but we’ll see how it goes.

A mate of mine, who has Parkinson’s combined with Alzheimer’s was brought into the pub tonight by two of his sons to see me and celebrate his birthday. He’s just a shell of the man who was full of life who now can barely speak or walk. After we put him in the car and he left I was stood in the car park crying and managed to pull myself together before going back in the pub, but everyone knew. Life really can be a bitch……
Pleased to hear that your results were clear and hope that the ultrasound results will be good too. It’s so sad to see those we know and love become a shadow of their former selves, one of the high prices we pay for aging. A good cry is often what’s needed and a shame that many feel or are unable to cry, I include myself in the latter. I think that may be a family trait on my Dad’s side. My Mum’s side burst into tears at the drop of a hat but my Dad’s never let the tears flow.

So the sour dough saga continues unabated ,first I have made two bricks that tasted like sourdough loaves but weighed a little more than me ! Each!
So undetered I tried again but I have to confess I was worried that it wouldn't rise as the previous two didn't so I used AI to find that indeed bakers use a normal yeast sometimes to each the rise . My starter looked good and it is older /more mature now but I succumbed to the temptation and added a normal yeast and here is the result ,it is a small percentage rye hence the sort of brown look but I have had to tie it down as it is so light ,well no not really but it is a vast improvement as long as it tastes good :-1757509770526.webp

Morning all, a little rain to greet the day but that has passed and the sun is out to play again. I’m having a haircut later, bit nervous as you may recall she tried to do a Vincent Van Gogh on me last time. She and her family are RS but I don’t think it was personal.
Have a good day, all.💙
Ah , that explains your cut ear, one-eyed with little perception of depth.

Good morning all on this fine one here ,I hope all are well and had a good night .Off to the shops for us today then a general tidy up outside which is par for the course at this time of year ,moving or throwing away those things that will freeze to the deck or be in the way if we get an early snow not that there is much chance of that as we had 23° yesterday .I am a creature of habit and like to do things before they become a burden .Have a great day all .Moyes has 20 minute interview with the founder of our watch partner on the club site ,I am a little way through it .
We have watched " I fought the law "on ITV ,what a woman !
Have a great day and don't forget the presser COYB
