6 + 2 Point Deductions

Just read that article and came here to post exactly that.

Why on earth would City voluntarily drop this without a quid pro quo?
They haven’t dropped it, it’s a deal where they make millions back in legal fees and compensation for the deals the premier league tried to stop.

I’d like to see a Toyota shirt deal of at least £50m per annum when the Stake deal expires.
Toyota are free to do that as they aren’t a related party. TFG dont own Toyota and Toyota don’t own TFG. TFG just get paid to distribute parts and vehicles on behalf Toyota, without ever selling them themselves. We won’t benefit from this settlement at all, as is always the way.

City certainly will otherwise they wouldn’t have settled, they would have fought it forever with an endless supply of legal fees, unless there was an advantage to them of paying up to end the fight. Stinks.

….looking like the Manchester City outcome pretty much confirms the distinction that clubs are being treated differently. I don’t mind it because it clearly demonstrates the situation.

What I’d like Everton to do is now pursue this, exploit exactly why Masters wanted us to be punished so badly yet other clubs with arguably worst misdemeanour treated lightly.

Our new owners might want matters to rest but I think it’s important we don’t just accept the situation, let’s call for a public/independent enquiry - time for Andy Burnham.

Honestly I think one of the reasons we got the penalty in the first place was because Moshiri was a clown. I think the Friedkin's would have run circles around these chuckleheads in court just like City. Not excusing the obvious issues with big clubs being treated differently, but we were there to be made an example of with absent ownership.
