Because he sacked Nuno Santo?

Maybe.

Though, time will tell.

Well, I was pretty disgusted with his on-field row with Nuno - and I'm astounded by the Ange hire. Those are bigger signs he's not handling it well to my eyes.

Nah, Santo is the 7th he's lashed - Warburton who was in place when he joined, Karanka, O'Neill, Lamouchi, Hughton, Cooper, Santo. I think they've got better with every change.

The interim, like us with Unsworth, Ferguson, Baines/Coleman - you wouldn't count.

Okay, fair enough - I'll bow to your superior knowledge on that.

But still.

He's now on his 8th permanent manager since 2017 - which is the same as Everton 'basket case' F.C.

Notts Forest have certainly done very well since Marinakis took over. He does however have a somewhat scattergun approach to running a club. Here is a list of his managerial appointments at Olimpiakos during his 15 year reign (albeit winning the League 11 times).

No clue on Greek football, but I think they were also become the first Greek club to win a European trophy last season. That jarg Intertoto cup?

HT referee visiting, secretly taped arranging results, repeatedly found not guilty of match fixing, eventually found guilty of spitting at match officials which he blamed on a cough caused by smoking cigars. This heifer is the owner version of luis suarez, never guilty of anything, and it's always someone else's fault. Sadly, life teaches that billionaires rarely fall very far, so waiting for this juggernaut to get his just desserts is probably in vain.

This guy is to Greece what berlusconi was to Italy.

Yeah terrible.

Nuno Santo should have resigned after that - maybe he basically did but got his new contract first before forcing the issue.

I'd routinely say Postecoglou was an atrocious manager, but I didn't think Cooper was a good choice at the time, and I laughed at Nuno Santo.

I'm not defending Marinakis as a person, he's a basket case - I've been expecting their collapse for years on the back of it. Eventually that type of character gets their comeuppance - I would post on here they'd go down within 3 years when PSR bit and they have to sell etc.

But as the years have gone on - he's proven me wrong consistently and so, I'm now of the view of, well, as per my first post;

That owner's decisions have got them promoted, and in Europe.

At some point you just have to accept that maybe he knows what he's doing.

Maybe.

^ And that's based solely on progress under him.

Yeah, I remember feeling similarly about Abramovich’s cavalier approach to club ownership, and that never bit him in the arse.

But I do think the big difference about where his Forest find themselves now is that, realistically, the only way is down.

It makes it a different prospect, and we don’t know how he’ll handle something other than punching his way upwards.

I dont know mate, his back line is always North of Greenland.

I dont know if Milenkovic in particular has the recovery to play having to recover, Murillo maybe.........

Yeah I do think it's a mad appointment for me like. Wouldn't be surprised if their owner just likes Ange because he's also a portly man of Greek descent.
