I wouldn't worry. I remember watching Rooney make his debut for England U18s or U21s and he did absolutely nothing. He didn't stand out at all.

I must have seen the same game, I thought he had won a raffle to play. Absolutely awful. He did OK though.

He is certainly not lacking confidence and with that, at his age , there will be mistakes and times he will likely frustrate people with his decision making like he should be keeping possession rather than trying to take the left back on constantly and losing the ball.

In my opinion there is a lot of potential in him but it’s important that he settles up here and we have a very good player in the squad he can learn from, Jack Grealish.
