It was actually a good time for an international break what with our defensive injuries and signings arriving relatively late into the window.

Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall will have had a good amount of time to bed into the group and gain full fitness over the two weeks and will hopefully pick up where they left off before the break.

Aznou should hopefully be fit and an option on the left, and who knows the current status of Mykolenko given he was sent back from international duty as he wasn't deemed fit.

do hope aznou can challenge Mykolenko this year. it seems a waste to have grealish and to back him up with mykolenko

though the flip side is myko is solid, but Grealish is actually surprisingly good at getting back and winning the ball so that doesn't concern me in the same way as it would with say James

feel like Aznou is already starting to stray into Kroldrup territory

I think he was definitely brought in as a buy now, play later player given his age and lack of experience. Some players get thrown in and either sink or swim, but I can't remember off the top of my head many young full backs arriving new to the league and looking like they were accomplished players from the off.

I guess Kerkez would be the last one. He joined Bournemouth at exactly the same age as Aznou joined us—played 60-odd games for them over two seasons before joining Liverpool.

Looking forwards to an Everton game for the first time in a long time without anxiety. Also think the stadium can truly take on its own ferocity and electricity if its an exciting game... its been hinting at what energy it can emit.... a great performance and convincing victory against a solid team like Villa can truly turn it into our own futuristic death star for visiting teams
