Today’s Football 25/26 Season

I feel like it’s massively helped by the frequency of international football these days, and the opposition he’ll be playing against.

I can’t remember much about international breaks when I was a kid, but I don’t remember us playing Andorra twice a year.

There’s that and then there’s how many apps can they spread around. Watched Overlap this week and was shocked how few caps Hallebaink had till he listed his competition.

They're trying to be to clever, it reminds me of Arsenal, they'd rather score the perfect goal instead of just scoring. Half a chance and pull the trigger. All this powder puff passing whilst in the box is killing them. Have a 'kin go!

Seems the camera man is as keep on Cavanis as I am, good stuff.
It's the Guardiola effect. The Germans marveled at his Barcelona side and the great Spanish national side that beat them in the 2008 Euro final and 2010 World Cup semi. When Bayern lured him to the Bundesliga, they basked in his reflected glory (even though the man he moved out Jupp Heynckes was far more successful as Bayern manager...). Guardiola burnished the German ego but flopped in the Champions League despite inheriting the European champions.

They've been an ersatz Spain since they won the World Cup in 2014 with the Heynckes and Klopp players. To this day, they play an inferior Iberian game - which always comes a cropper against technical sides - instead of using their own German attributes. It's sterile. Even if they qualify for the World Cup - far from a certainty - they'll be embarrassed next year. It'll be richly deserved as a huge number of Germans have sort of tacitly supported this self-indulgent nonsense for the last decade...

Klopp might fancy it before then...but then he'd look at the current squad and write it off as a bad idea.

It’s a good point mate, Bobby Charlton record prob stood for 50 years, then broke twice within a few years since the turn of the century.

Frequency and dumbing down the#opposition in qualifying have muddied the waters comparatively. ;)
