2025/26 Jordan Pickford

He was absolutely not very good for us for a period where he was the england keeper, yes, and people trollied out this 'how can he not be amazing if hes the england nr 1' argument

Based on the amount of soft goals he conceded for Everton during that early period, Im leaning more towards people viewing him through english colored glasses.
I'm leaning towards you needing glasses

I think Howard was just as good as the likes of friedel and shwarzer, im a bit confused with your point there.

Yes martyn was brilliant at 38 but he knew it was time even though the club asked him to stay on.
My point is you need to be a great goalkeeper to be a real asset to your side in your late 30s. Howard was a good servant - no more. Martyn had to reture through injury.

No reason at all why he shouldn't pass 100 England caps which would really cement him as one of the all-time legendary English players.

76 caps now, unless the manager wants to unnecessarily rotate keepers, should get all 4 remaining qualifying games and get hopefully at least 5 during the World Cup as the team will surely get through to last 16.

Takes him to at least 85 caps by this time next year, by which time he'll only be 32 and probably have at least 4-5 years left at his prime.

Probably got one more tournament in him as first choice unless something goes badly wrong, so with friendlies and qualifying, obviously plus the tournament itself in 2028, loads more caps to be had.

Chilton 125 caps
Rooney 120 caps
Beckham 115 caps
Gerrard 114 caps
Bobby Moore 108

Can easily get in and amongst that list.

Not once has he let England down. he's never been chipped from the half way line or thrown it into his own net. Name another keeper who's been pretty much faultless for england?

Oh sorry you’re meaning best keeper England national team has had, thought you just meant English keeper in general. I mean most people say Banks but not old enough to have seen him.

He could easily get past 125 caps

It's deffo a possibility like and would be immense for both him and Everton. That would probably need him to be first choice and playing most games between now and 2030, by which point he'll be approaching 37 years old—certainly nearing the end of his career then.
