The Occasional Visitor (Seat Unique and alternatives)

It's all new since the move to BMD with the Club seemingly doing all it can to increase revenue in every area of the operation of the Club, which we all expected (and maybe hoped for).

With fans also being at the whim of revised ticketing arrangements and also the PL, TV and European competitions schedules it doesn't make it any easier for either the occasional visitor or for ST holders.

As for memberships, the 'biggest club in the world' measured by the number of (paid) members it has is still Benfica, I think. They have maybe getting on for half a million members so it must be virtually impossible getting a ticket to see them and the touts must have a field day.

Yeah and charging fans 60 quid for memberships which dont get you a ticket is scandalous. Everton in the community.
This is the issue. I only got the 35 quid membership so I haven't even been able to enter a ballot as yet. Mate sorted me for a villa ticket so at least the membership has been of some use

I have put off buying a membership until the buzz dies down a bit. Are tickets ever likely to go to general sale?
If I have a membership, can I buy just the one ticket?
If my son comes along too, he would have to buy his own membership?
General sale? Maybe midweek FA Cup against lower league opposition?
Unless it is general sale, each ticket needs a membership, so your son would need one too.

I person per membership so yes he would need his own.
I think the demand will go down post New Years unless were battling for Europe, so who knows, but i just cant see fans paying the extra for a ticket if were mid table and the matches are on TV.
There is re sale on the website you can use your membership to buy tickets should you find some.

A good time to check them is immediately after a Saturday game becomes a midweek. West Ham went from £200 to £90.
This isn't a sly dig at you or anyone else, and I realise it's the nature of the extra seats held back for primo paying visitors, but the numbers washing around are so casually significant, it doesn't seem right. What happened to 'twenty's plenty'? If the QE2 has pulled into town and there's a boat load of american oil magnates aboard then I can see some of the draw, but dad and lad are now priced out by not a few quid but by hundreds. It's progress, it's the way of the world, it's keeping up with the rest, it's just not cricket.

I've priced in a TV date move for my Seat Unique "experience" next February. I'll wait to book flights until the TV fixtures are confirmed. I don't know how rail in the UK works, but booking a flight on Ryanair or Aer Lingus or whoever isn't going to be fantastically more expensive a month or five weeks out from the game. I think this is more of an issue with the state of the privatised UK rail system than Seat Unique, to be honest.
I've done the same for the Man Utd game - is that the same as yours?

Following a google search I've just found the following on the Daily Fail:

I live in London and only rarely get up to matches. Apart from a couple matches a year, I'm strictly an "armchair" fan. I have in the past got tickets off this forum and purchased tickets from the club itself.

Due to the understandable increase in demand and the £35 cost of the membership, I decided to "treat" myself to Seat Unique tickets to the Crystal Palace game. I have paid £150 for this ticket, which on the face of it sounds INSANE. However if you add the cost of the membership, the ticket itself, a program and a £10 food voucher. The price is not actually awful.

Unfortunately the match has now been moved and Seat Unique will not allow you to cancel your ticket. I've had to re-arrange my train ticket, which cost an extra £40. To add insult to injury, Seat Unique have now dynamically priced the tickets to £125 each!

At £190 per ticket, this has now become the most expensive visit to Everton EVER (I wish I'd gone big on Oasis now!)

I cannot be the only person in this position...

What other options does the Occasional visitor have?

I know Everton need to be more professional, but should the club be checking for "fair practice"?
Made all the worse when it's peeing with rain and we lose 1-0. I'm in the same position. Had no problems at goodison. I'm 2500miles away and have to bring my son too. Will probably cost a grand all in and I'm pretty broke right now. Seat unique seems the only option

Membership is 60 notes.
Your kidding yourself to take that into the equation, cos if you want another ticket you still pay ,either way.
It's no longer the people's club mate.
