Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Jeez AT when an intelligent, sane and articulate guy like you buys into this anti Everton conspiracy we really are in trouble. Sky did absolutely wonderful programmes on BMD prior to the Brighton game and the history of Goodison prior to the Southampton game, I'm sure that you must have seen them.

The sad fact is that as a football team Everton have been irrelevant for 30 years , no wonder we don't get the coverage of more successful teams.

We are starting to see the green shoots of recovery but it's debatable whether ( certainly with the current PSR rules ) we can ever overcome decades of mismanagement and get back to the top table.

Don't blame Sky , don't blame the PL - blame Johnson , Kenwright et al who put us in this position.
Liverpool hadn’t won a title in 30 years and yet all Sky football programming resembled a fan station for them. The majority of pundits are either ex Kopites or people who know to pander to them to keep getting rehired. The uninterrupted dirge from the Kop pre game that must not be spoken over; Carragher keeping his job after spitting on a child etc etc

Of course we have punched below our weight for too long but that isn’t why Sky don’t give us a fraction of the coverage that the RS get.

Very interesting and not surprising Val. There is very little infrastructure around BMD , certainly little which is familiar to Evertonians.

The transport situation is poor and very little thought seems to have been given to it.

Worst of all for me ( based on reports ) and -as someone who prints out their boarding passes rather than rely on their phone- my aversion to tech is the ticket situation.

Thought I would be desperate to get to a game at BMD but I'm really not. It looks wonderful on TV and I'm delighted at our current form ( tougher tests ahead ) but in all honesty I'm more interested in watching a women's match at Goodison than going to BMD .

However as Fred would not doubt point out I hate moving with the times and would much rather listen to ( say ) Simon and Garfunkel than TLDP.

C'est moi 😂
Supporters club messaged out last night that Everton are only issuing digital tickets a day or two before the game and for us members to be patient. I really don’t like those tight timescales.

In that time they won the European Cup / Champions League twice and FA and League Cups.

They were relevant.

We weren't/ aren't.

It hurts .

Agree first paragraph AT .

Disagree 2nd para I'm afraid

You see , in a nutshell, that why I'm not arsed about going to BMD.

Just too much faffing about.

Going to the match is supposed to be a pleasurable experience, something to look forward to. This new process just sounds too stressful.

It’s the same in GAA now where for bigger games you must have a ticket rather than be able to pay at the gate. There are so many older people who don’t know how to order tickets online or who don’t have smartphones. At least you can gain entry with a printed ticket though.

Afternoon gang. Hope all are well and haven't missed me too much :) . I haven't been in the best of health over the last week with a stomach issue. Not been great but feeling a lot better yesterday and today..

Quite a bit been happening in my world, which is very unusual. Don't think I've mentioned it before but my South Africa trip in February may not be happening. My neighbour has a bit of a health scare which is being checked out and may stop him travelling. Also he's been quoted over a £100 per night by the property owner for an extra person staying, which I won't be prepared to pay. He said he'd clarify this when actually out there so it may be a last minute thing.

In the meantime I've started trying to organise my diary for my October trip up to Liverpool, which is more stressful that arranging the trip itself. Plus my eldest sister is 80 in January and is having a party which she'll come to Liverpool for. So I'll b back up in January for that and it's Cal's birthday 3 day's later so I'll stick around for that and spend it with friends.

Seeing as the main interest in my life is music I've decided to upgrade my equipment and have been looking on line for hifi stuff. There's just too much choice and I need to factor in the limited space I'll have when I downsize. Bit miffed with Spotify too for a number of reasons so had decided to pay for Apple Music. Problem is I seem to have an old account with them linked to my normal email address which has been blocked, and I can't get it sorted as they seem to have my birth date wrong. Nothing ever seems straightforward.

Then the girls totally surprised me by announcing a new tour this Autumn, and they're doing Plymouth Pavilion on Dec 4th. So I've requested my pre sale code and need to get mentally prepared for 10am Tuesday. These pre sale events take stress levels to a different sphere. Wish me Luck. Hopefully Plymouth's full of Wurzell fans.:) The girls have also dropped a new single and if you're not moved by the music video then you're a harder person than me. Yes I'm talking to you Jazzy.

Hope you all enjoy your toffee free weekend. These dates used to offer some respite but for once I find myself missing it.
