2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Well put
He’s still only 18 , 19 in January. It would be extremely unfair to ask him to on a very important role as a 6 where he would need to be constantly switched on ,able to read the game and turn defence into attack.
Not many ( if any ) 18/19 yr olds would be given such responsibility in a first team in the PL
Let him do another year on loan and learn the game better by playing week in week out rather than a few minutes here and there
Moyes obviously sees the potential in him and will want him as a long term part of the squad
Colin Harvey our white Pele would never get a game under DM ....

Erm yes DMs old stomping ground just a favour from him - Blackburn , Wrexham & Derby were all after him - IMO it stinks .....
He has signed a loan German midfielder on loan to pay next season - injury prone - & we have to pay the fee in 12 months I hope he works out ok - he played only 15 games last season ....due to injuries ....
So boring, day after day, same old rubbish.

He's gone, he will be back, get over it.

2-0 win.
I’ve watched part of this match, Harrison is playing further forward akin to his role against Mansfield compared to his deeper role with Derby , he had a hand in the first goal , cutting the ball back from the bye line before it was eventually slotted. Preston are a good attacking team , less so defensively and that’s a worry if they’ve got him to fill a specific deep mid position . While he can certainly do both, his attacking instincts to score and create goals is something he needs to continue to develop too.
A positive start at u19’s though, captaining a talented squad and not looking at all out of place.

Obviously I would have prefered the lad to stay, and grow with the quality around him here, but it hasn't happened and it's not going to change now, so gonna have to trust in Moyes decision on this, and what he feels is best for the lads development..

He wouldn't have sent him on loan if he was in his plans this season, so maybe it was the right move..

I do like the fact that its Moyes making these decisions, as i think Moyes will fight harder to keep what is a very promising home grown talent. Whereas Acadamy's nowadays are gradually just becoming a weapon in the battle with PSR..
( for certain clubs anyway )

I wouldn't think its wrong for him to go on loan if they feel he'd benefit more at this age playing regularly than just getting cameos off the bench or playing the odd cup game. This isn't to say he can't be useful in those appearances for us. I think its just how they best see him developing, I'd be happy with either outcome.
The coaches will have development plan for him and all the young players
That plan will be reviewed regularly depending on the progress or lack of by the player and if they see an immediate pathway for regular first team minutes
Moyes doesn’t decide on his own weather the lad stays or goes on loan

After his debut Coleman had an amazing game came on for Tony Hibbert a substitute v Spurs - Coleman changed the game from defeat to a draw we were 2-0 down - DM on radio Merseyside when asked about Coleman what a bargain what a player etc etc - DM that no 2 shirt is his after that performance - then sent him out on loan when Tony Hibbert got fit ......
So please do not say he knows what he is doing .... Blackpool tried to then sign him .....
You just made my point for me: Coleman was oven-ready but he sent him on loan and handed the older player the shirt for another season.

All about how many minutes he will get hd he stays, if we can overall get him around the 1000 mark this season then he should stay - with Grealish and a few others we now have he will benefit hugely just training with that quality - as long as he does get those minutes too.
He could get over 3000 mi utes in the Championship play first team football
As a previous poster said it’s all about minutes minutes and more minutes
The more he learns both from the good parts of his game and from his mistakes
10/15 mins here and there will be no good to him
1000 minutes is 11 games a season

Exactly my point our youth policy is very poor .....
But we just produced one who is PL quality. He's just gone out on loan.

He may not be a starter now, but he'd defo have been in the mix for a shirt as the season progressed.

How do you justify Moyes doing that?

He would progress better getting 40+ games, than sitting on the bench most weeks and getting 5minutes at the end of games.
Not at an inferior level where hardly anyone around him thinks at a PL level in terms of movement ahead of him.

He'll regress in that league.

Moyes has shown a vested interest in Harrison by starting him in in pre-season and in the cup game. If he didn’t rate him neither would have happened

You’re just creating a negative narrative becuase that is you’re outlook.

The facts tell you he is highly rated but they don’t think he’s fully ready and needs another season of regular football at the next highest level. If he smashes it, he becomes a serious option next season

It’s called development, look it up
How many players Moyes has dropped down a division ever come back? Not many. Coleman.

Barkley had to wait until he was gone to United to get back here. He'd have been sold otherwise. Rooney would have been loaned out if United hadn't told him to play him in the PL to see whether they were really interested.
