New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

They're declaring sell outs to push the matchday corporate and corporate lite sales. They're testing that market, seeing how far that they can push it.

I think they're playing with fire with Seat Unique packages. We don't have the vast out of town or International support of our neighbours, with thousands of fans prepared to spend small fortunes every week for once a year or even once a lifetime visits. There's a chance that we'll see large numbers of away fans in home sections for certain team's visits.

...and visually it looks terrible.

The tv coverage picks up a lot of empty spaces all over that East stand and it's very difficult to declare full houses with any sort of credibility. The club looks stupid because of it.

I think there`s plenty of demand for general admission entry rather than the corporate seats. We have been so use to going to the local pubs, and then just rocking up to Goodison to watch the match and then heading back for a post-mortem back in the pub, I think maybe folks might need a bit of time to adapt to having a stadium that you can head up to well before KO time and get fed and plenty of drinks in comfort before and after the game.
I can only speak for the East Stand Concourse but I would hardly use the word comfort while trying to hold food and a pint at the same time. As for after the game the bars have been closed at the three matches I've attended ,Roma ,Brighton & Mansfield. Perhaps other parts of the ground are serving drinks ?

Don't know if it's been posted so apologies if so but this lad seems to give a positive and balanced review of the new ground. Definitely knows a thing or two about it given the amount of grounds he's been to.

I wouldn't say he was that positive.

He basically said the stadium was a nightmare to get into, it wasn't a sell out as billed and it's a bit like Spurs ground and a massive difference to Goodison.

When I was talking about the extra comfort I was thinking about the extra corporate areas, as that might be the reason for a bunch of seats in the same area being empty for the games so far. Every team at every level are providing a bit of hospitality which might just be access to a nice bar area and a bit of food before and after the game. Same old story for fans just going in on a general admission ticket I suppose, and then everyone asks why the atmosphere isn`t the same as it used to be at the match.

I'm disappointed with the attendances so far given that the fanbase has done our bit and there are so many desperate for a ticket. Open to ridicule from certain other fans too who don't have a clue and would face the exact same scenario if their clubs were doing the same.

Regarding your last point, seen quite a few comments from Brighton and Mansfield fans online saying that the segregation on the plaza I think it is or dispersing from the ground is a potential nightmare, for games where there may be animosity. The Derby, the 2 Manchester clubs and some others.

They'll hold away fans back if they are worried about that.

As far as I know, the Seat unique tickets are all in home sections. There won't be any segregation for them, so if there is a large take-up by wealthy visiting team's fans, then there is potential for problems in home sections and their concourses. Thousands more Liverpool fans are more than happy to pay those prices every week.... their fans and touts will be all over this.

Tbf, they will be slung out sharpish if there is the first sign of bother I’d imagine, so they would be have to be willing to spend upwards of £150 (not to mention travel etc) just to get kicked out, which would be some pretty committed idiots.

Locals for the Derby would be a different matter though and should be very tightly policed.

Especially as other clubs on seat unique have a warning stating that the tickets are in home sections and that fans supporting the away team will be ejected. Everton / Seat Unique have no such warnings for our tickets. One would almost wonder if they are encouraging away fans to buy tickets to drive up the prices…… It’s either deliberate or incompetence. Either way if there’s trouble they will only have themselves to blame.

I think the atmosphere will improve when fans get used to their new surroundings and new 'neighbours '. I asked a few stewards if we could go in the bars that might possibly be open upstairs and got various replies ranging from dunno mate , to not sure , to no chance.

At the end where he summarised he was overall positive about it.

It is possible to have issues with some aspects yet come away with a positive overall view.
