TV Series

I’ve been sticking with it and it’s getting worse. In episode 5 they recap what happened on the ship and everyone is either a complete idiot or unbearable. They’ve written a part for an apprentice engineer on the ship, responsible for repairs and maintenance, and he was the intelligence of a 5 year old. It’s mental writing.
Hahaha...i like it, the operation scene was particularly silly...tbf they all seem desperate people who have given their lives away ...so maybe they have just had to pick stupid people 😆

Based on COYBL25’s review I’m going to start it tonight. I haven’t started Season 3 of Foundation yet. I thought that last season of it was excellent. Especially the episode Long ago, not far away. A great back story to the entire 3 in power scenario. I want to wait till that’s all out I think to start it. Same with Invasion, only 2 of that out for now so I ought wait a bit longer. I’m actually enjoying alien earth and I did watch the first chief of war earlier and did enjoy it but I’m hankering for some more good sci fi
We are absolutely on the same page.

The expanse will satisfy your hankering. I am about to start the final season. Trying to decide how much of an o casino to make out of it. Got a fortnight off work after this week so might binge the crap out of it while I’m off.

I’ve got to say this is tremendous tv advice.

I’m half way through season 4. It’s really doing it for me. Im going to be gutted when it’s over but then it’s foundation season 3 time, so should be getting my SciFi needs met for some time yet.
Read the books when you reach the end.

They did a very good job following them and there's more to the story if you like it so you can easily pick it up and continue as there is a time skip after the final events of the show.

….watching ‘I Fought the Law’ on ITVx. Based on a true story of a mothers fight for justice after her daughters murder. It’s an ok watch if you’re a bit stuck for something.
Watched the first two episodes of this last night, it’s quite harrowing if you put yourself in the shoes of the family, the police response initially to this was shockingly negligent…. And a forensic team in the house for 5 days and found nothing …. Wow.

*plus it has Sheridan Smith who always has a warm corner of my heart

Yes Sheridan Smith is excellent

It's very good and Sheridan Smith is excellent as usual. See the usual moans from the people of the area moaning about the accents.

It’s a dreadful mess, that’s despite the cast trying their level best to make the most of it.

One of the biggest things that make it a mess, is having three leads, it just doesn’t work at all.

That post makes it sound like it’s a cinematic masterpiece like Collateral, it’s not.
I'd agree with this, even though I didn't think it was the disaster that plenty made it out to be. Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams weren't bad at all and the Chinatown link in the Instagram post is about right. Relentlessly dark but I watched it through.

I watched the first episode and I can see there’s a story there but honestly if people hadn’t said how good it gets based off that first episode (zero g sex scene aside) I’d possibly have given up there because it does seem very sci fi channel.

Haha mate I was off for a couple of weeks recently and planned to watch all of the stuff I’ve saved but I’d had an op and the pain killers I was on were knocking me out so I couldn’t stay awake to watch any of them. I’m kind of happy I saved it all though cos I’ve got a load of irons in the fire ready for autumn when I can’t get out to play as much golf 😂

Pete the Rabbit (CBeebies)

Just watching an episode now and there’s a recurring theme where Pete and his siblings are captured and threatened to be eaten by Mr. Todd (a Fox) and Old Brown (an Owl).

Despite Pete and his siblings having noice clothes and a cosy home, they are threatened with a gruesome death by psychopaths everyday, yet their parents just let them out on their own time after time.

Alien earth, hope this is a one and done, will stick to the end now but no interest in a season two. Characters are just too unlikeable
Completely disgree, its fantastic and no doubt they will make more seasons as it has been the most streamed TV series. Characters are great, especially Morrow and Kirsch. Absolutely brilliant series - obviously if you like Alien/Blade Runner type things.

Im glad they release episodes 1 and 2 together, as you have to really see them both to get the flavour. But it starts getting very interesting from episode 3/4 :) and Episode 5 just smashes it out the park! Shame its only 8 episodes!

Brilliant stuff - I can see why its been so popular tbh. So different to the usual, samey crap thats out there and with lots of cerebral angles not just action. I think its the best thing that has ever been on TV, but Im an alien fan - to most its probably just ok to good if you like the genre (but its not just about the alien, its soooo much more).

I haven’t even seen season 2 after seeing numerous bad reviews. Is this post more accurate?

Has some good ideas but messy narrative and too many characters. Big things were expected after the first series and it obviously wasn’t as good.

It’s ok in its own right but has some really stupid scenes. Would have been much better if a bit more time was taken.

….watched it a few times with the Grandkids, there’s no catching Peter he’s far too clever and fast for his enemies, his folks did a good job ;)

extremely mixed reviews of Alien Earth which is pretty weird, will start it next week i think
Nah, thats fine and perfectly normal. Its a sci fi, action thriller with horror, philosophical and existential threats/angles. Its not for everyone :)

Though if you like sci-fi action thrillers, its right up there. But at least watch the first two to get the feel.
