6 + 2 Point Deductions

Our net spend this window is £114m according to Sky earlier (but that includes the Rohl obligation fee, which I think would be included in next year's spend (?) so maybe about £96m in this window?)
Net spend seems to be a big thing this year I don't remember media pushing it this much before... It's almost like there is an agenda.

Just read that article and came here to post exactly that.

Why on earth would City voluntarily drop this without a quid pro quo?

And waste 10s of millions in the process mate, only logical explanation is they cut a deal.

The reporting of this is purposeful also, media wise it’s pro PL, City will get a lenient punishment now guaranteed.

To punish them too much would damage their own brand. Both parties want this swept under the carpet with a token punishment that will all be forgotten about.

Dunno why they bother dragging it out tbh.

It was always guaranteed. Unfortunately no clubs will do the right thing and kick up a humongous fuss and demand appeals against any ruling.

Tbf clubs should refuse to play against them if they're not kicked out of the division, but clearly that's not feasible. They've got away with a decade and a half of brazen cheating.
