2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Looking at Prestons starting XIs this season in the league, its been Whiteman & McCan playing every minute, plus one more (Devine or Podarson)

You would imagine he isn't taking the captains spot (Whiteman sits) so you would think its one of the other '8' positions he will take up.
Interesting as he had the sitting position at Derby too.
I don't think he will be thrown straight in to be honest and might have to bide his time as the 4 midfielders mentioned have either been mainstays for Preston, or looked impressive so far (Devine)

Guaranteeing him game time will have been part of the deal. Clubs were queueing up to take him, so we'll have been able to impose our terms.

Rubbish he went to Anfield in Europe & tore the red lot apart .... we beat the race to sign him for £5 million ....
Eh? Lookman at Atalanta under Gasperini played in a completely different role compared to the PL, a very specific role in a refined system. It utilised him perfectly and allowed him to consistently perform. There were glimpses of his talent in the PL but he just didn't suit overall.

DM has been sacked a few times - failed loads of times - stop bigging him up - we have had far better Managers than him who actually won trophies - The new owners wanted him for one season & he wanted a longer spell - I hope he does well , but don't give me crap like he knows better ....
If we slump & i hope we don't, they will get rid as they are ruthless - look at their other club Roma .....

I can not understand signing a loan midfielder a German international youth player - a few years older than Harrison Armstrong was the correct move when we needed a right back makes any sense & he had to loan him to his club where DM has sentiment for ????
I agree with some 6 months was enough of a loan deal - Afcon & injuries may yet play their part !

Plus this lad played about 15 games as he is injury prone - lets see if he stars - I hope so ....
I don’t think I was bigging anyone up, simply stating a fact and whilst we’ve had better managers, albeit some 40 years ago and at a very different phase of football, he’s certainly up there in the modern era barring Carlo, given the constraints he’s faced on both occasions.

How many managers have had 21 years in the Premier League and still doing the job? Don’t give you ‘crap’ that he knows better.. better than who?

He may have been sacked a few times but that would only enhance his experiences and knowing what not to do.

The reason you don’t understand why we’ve signed a German international (5 years older than Harrison), or sent Harrison out on loan, is because you have no comprehension about managing elite level athletes at the very highest level of football.

Perhaps ask ‘why’ this has been the strategy. Could it be that Harrison wants regular football and asked to go out on loan, could it be that Merlin has five years more experience but perhaps is more amenable to playing a bit part whilst he’s getting accustomed to the UK and the Premier league, better to have cover on the bench with someone who’s happy to be there.

I have watched the blues since 1962 so please don't try to teach your Grandmother to suck eggs ..

I’m not suggesting I know more about Everton than you.

I am saying that DM knows far more about managing Everton than you do.
The same snide who had pre meetings to leave us ? TBH one season last year shou4 have been enough with his knife to a gunfight attitude imo he did well last season let's hope he can take us up the table.... time will tell ...
