2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

He’s the best Everton player I’ve seen in years. The only reason I watched games sometimes last season. Made up Everton are putting quality players around him so we can get the best of him. Doing well on the right wing too, qualify there at last.

When he goes he will make us serious profit, but until then, we have a baller.
Re-watching highlights from Saturday, the little drag back and go, spinning on a sixpence and leaving three Wolves defenders for dead, ahead of the first goal, was unreal.

Thing is, he does that kind of thing 3 or 4 times a game. Not seen anyone dribble like that in the premier league for ages

Aye same, it’s highest level really. Good to see in royal blue - his new counterparts should free up space for him too. Keep him fit and we’re sound.

There was about 10-15 minutes when we were two up where he was just taking the p!ss every time he got the ball. As you've said showboating is a bit of a lost art in the modern game, rare to see a player have the ability and mentality to beat players with skill so consistently.

Defenders simply don't know what to do with him, I've seen teams doubling even tripling up on him and he always finds a way out. One of those players you cant even foul when you want to, so good at keeping his balance and keeping the ball under control.

He's cooking this year for sure

I've said it before but, as much as I admire his capacity and desire to stay on his feet, I would like to see him incorporate into his game some better management. Go down sometimes, win us a free kick, get your man booked. Especially in some of the more frantic, tighter games, that kind of thing can be invaluable

I really like the idea of him at 10 considering he's now shown he's comfortable anywhere across that 3.

Grealish comfortable on the left and in the middle, Dibling comfortable on the right and in the middle. If you put Ndiaye inbetween them you have a fluid 3 that can constantly swap positions and drag defenders all over the place. Would be very hard to play against.

Yeah, that's what I'm picturing as well. I'm just wondering though whether or not that's exclusively as a 3 behind an out and out striker or if it could be an actual front 3? Whether or not you rate Barry and/or Beto, I think we'd all agree tat we don't have a top quality striker at present... Ndiaye can put people on his back quite well if we have to go long / use him as an outlet. Do people think that would work? Or are we simply not good enough to have that type of front 3?

An extra benefit of a front 3 would be that we could keep Dewsbury-Hall in midfield without him being exposed in a 2 man midfield.

I agree he needs to learn to pick his moments to hit the deck, in our half or when he's way out wide with no support for example. When he's driving at goal its amazing how he stays on his feet though, you can see the panic it puts into defenders each time he's fouled and carries on his run.

I think we have the players now for us to go 433. Good option for us to have in games where we we're being overrun in midfield or tricky away fixtures where we're playing mostly on the counter.

Have to say though I'm personally really liking the balance we have atm in this 4231. Genuinely not sure that there's a better attacking midfield in the league atm than our 3, depth isn't really there but when fit and firing they will cause any teams problems.

Not worried about strikers either because of that. Think we're all used to getting 2 chances a game and having the idea in our heads that we need a striker with an unbelievable conversion rate. We are going to create so much more this season that I'm not worried at all about Beto and Barry not being able to score enough goals. Goals will be more spread out now amongst the squad anyway, but even so I'm fairly confident of Beto and Barry both hitting double figures this season.

He spent so much time last season trying to dribble through 3 players. Now with Grealish pulling the extra defenders, I think its likely he feasts. He will often only have 1 guy to beat, and will have more crosses to finish. This season we will get a proper look at what Ndiaye can do in his prime(provided he stays uninjured).
