6 + 2 Point Deductions

Indeed, however, Its got to a point its openly damaging the EPL brand now. I suspect they will bring in exclusions that won't cost the balance sheet. Clubs like Everton Villa and Newcastle have serious people at the helm of respective clubs and can imagine there is allsorts going on in the background to liberalise anti competative regulations the sky six got EPL to bring in.
Don’t think it’s particularly damaging the brand. Certainly not overseas. Premier league is still more competitive than most other leagues.

Doubt other clubs will be particularly effective in pushing for changes in the regulations given that they continuously vote in big clubs favour (such as the 5 sub rule) and that the biggest clubs will also push back on any proposals.

It’s only us Newcastle and Villa that seem particularly arsed and Newcastle are doing a good job at being competitive within the restrictions.

It’s all pointing towards another run at the super league in a few years anyways.

As soon as PS&R either becomes damaging for the brand, or ‘smaller’ teams find a way to circumnavigate it, they’ll just change the rules to something else.

They want the sky six at the top table and no one else, they’ll just continue to find ways to do that.

Will probably soon be rules that spending is linked to the size of a club’s social media following. Oh look United can spend another quarter of a billion whilst Villa and Newcastle better sell their players.

Our net spend this window is £114m according to Sky earlier (but that includes the Rohl obligation fee, which I think would be included in next year's spend (?) so maybe about £96m in this window?)
Probably be around £30m per year still after taking into account Dibling's 4 yr deal and Alcaraz's 2 yr deal.
We will gain again next year when we give them extensions and therefore spreading the outlay even more.

I guess people bringing this thread up when we have spent for the first time in years while the RS have spent a billion billions really sums up what a joke PSR is
They can spend that though, while we get stuck with deadwood until contracts expire they get 25 million plus for their deadwood, it's amazing that clubs are still buying off them, nobody they have sold has gone on and done well, if they are willing to sell then there is a reason.

We sold the women's team to ourselves for 50 million, we will be just fine for the next few years.

Because of the amortisation on the Dibling, Alcaraz and Aznou deals alone our net spend for this window is closer to (or below) £50m.

People often forget we are starting from a loss making position, the club projected making an improvement in revenue of 45 - 50 mill in the new ground. We lost that in our last set of published accounts.

There is still a lot of work to do to recover this club financially, its getting done but, there is a way to go.

Aye. Again none of us know the exact state of affairs but don't expect us to be dishing out 120m+ every window (without any substantive sales).

Anticipate a quieter January and next summer - not saying we won't have the ability to make some key signings but I wouldn't be considering this window as the norm.

The scale of the negligence and degradation of the last decade or so can not be emphasised enough. We were in an almighty mess. We are in much better shape but as you say, a long way to go.
