Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Quite interesting that the only loan we have taken on is for a player we could not afford to buy. Excellent business for Jack Grealish, bringing a top player by the only means we could.

Moyes moaned about the squad being decimated by loans leaving last summer, this is now a thing of the past, we buy for future seasons, not immediate gaps.

I am greatly encouraged by the whole tone and tenor of our business. Sure there are still some obvious gaps, but what has been achieved is excellent.
Technically Rohr is a loan as well.

This is exactly what happened… we agreed a fee but wouldn’t accept the clauses as we felt them unreasonable and unrealistic, we were prepared to walk away but the feeling from early on was that they would blink first. Believe that or not, but this is what people close to that deal were saying. Club deserves credit for that.
Club Credit don’t let our lovable orange poster hear you say that
But I agree
We are much more business savvy since TFG took over
Before that we were Usmanov’s plaything and ego trip

Fofana and Kubo didn't move. We've been linked with tens if not a hundred plus players, it'd be interesting to know which players Moyes is gutted to have missed, and who we might go back for. Saying that, with the players we have and the number we have teens and early twenties, we could be sorted for a few windows for a while.
We certainly should have an easier summer next year recruiting - I’d suggest barring outgoings we really only need fullbacks and maybe a holding midfielder.

Moyes bemoaned the fact that he wanted older more experienced players but struggled to attract them so had to recruit younger players as they were more open to the “project” and easier to sign. ( and yes he was quoted in the echo saying exactly that for anyone not believing it).

I for one am glad he’s disappointed that he didn’t get what he wanted! A team of Soucek’s and McGinn’s isn’t the recruiting strategy we should be looking to do!!

We’ve had a very good window almost by luck more than judgement compared to what we might have had if Moyes got his way.
