2025/26 David Moyes

Doing a good job since he’s come back, looks to me like he and the rest of the transfer committee have had a decent window, could have done buisness a little quicker but hey ho.

Also, no more Leeds showings please Davey, no more knife to gunfights, have a go at every team in every game.

Shame to see Patterson bashing has spread to the managers thread, some sad individuals about. They patto haters should go back to waxing lyrical about how great Keane is (🤣🤣) and hanging out of his hoop instead, instead of ruining other threads.

Lonergan joined Wigan in June 2024

So he did, transfermarkt has him in our 24/25 squad for some reason. Have added in Rohle now - average age exactly the same but you can see that's mostly down to existing players getting older. Nearly all of our signings have been an age drop to their replacement.

Just for a laugh...

.......................Travers
Patterson O'Brien Branthwaite Aznou
Dibling Garner Rohl Alcaraz Ndiaye
.......................Barry

26 + 23 + 24 + 23 + 19 + 19 + 24 + 23 + 22 + 25 + 22 / 11 = 22.72

I always used to love having Scottish players at our club, they seemed to have an extra passion for the game somehow, now of course we don't see clubs looking to sign from the Scottish Premiership anymore, they just look abroad, times have changed.
Glad we've got a Scot as manager & glad its David Moyes, love him. 💙

I have no Scottish connections in case you think that's why I've posted this!

When Ian Durrant & Ferguson signed for us i was made up.

Feel there is a huge change in him since he came back, in his first stint he could be risk adverse in games, maybe that was inexperience or maybe he was always maintain his profile for a big move at some point by maintaining plucky low resourced Everton.

Since hes come back though, he knows he has limited time, hes going at games, at some points in the first 10 mins of Wolves and Brighton we had 8/9 players in the opposition half. Hes going for the throat and want to achieve something and fast.

That analysis doesn't tally with the Leeds game where he had us sitting off them like they were Real Madrid rather than a pony Tyke outfit there to be snotted.

It's pretty obvious what happened there Dave. We did what a lot of clubs would do in a game like that; you go out, you do nothing silly early doors, and try and take the sting out of the fans and players flying out the traps. We weathered the storm, but then just couldn't get going ourselves. It happens. We just didn't get going. There's no chance Moyes was happy at half time, even though it was still 0-0. There was an improvement second half, but not to the levels needed.

It was a very tricky fixture that. We've seen the difference Goodison can make. Elland Rd, whilst not in the same league as Goodison, can be a tough place to go on the best of days. Never mind first game back after promotion, moved to a night time kick off. We were looking to take the sting out of them early doors, but we performed poorly as a team, and never got going. I don't believe for one second the manager was looking for the performance we delivered.

But he oversaw that.

He clearly didn't look for that performance, but that's what his team delivered. You can't simply give him all the credit for a good performance at Wolves and absolve him of any culpability for the Leeds no-show.

Moyes has done very well since he came back. Long may it continue.
