ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Lashing half a billion quid about like it’s Monopoly money, tapping up players and causing them to strike all summer yet still having the gall and entitlement to throw an absolute mental headloss fume and cryarse loudly simply because one club and their manager say no you can’t sign our captain as we can’t get a replacement in, is the very definition of the RS and their cult following.

They also can never have a go at city or anyone else’s spending ever again.

No excuses now lurkers, none at all.

Another kopite journalist at the BBC by the looks of it. Attempting to justify the spend. All the usual excuses in there. Increase in revenues, net spend, not spent a penny for 3 years.

Finishes with a reminder for us all that it's not all about the money.

"And it can't be overlooked that for all the talk of record spending, the Reds are defending their title this season against the backdrop of immense grief and sadness."

What a load of absolute bollox.

The Beeb may as well just rename itself TAW and be done with it.

It's tragic what happened to Jota, of course.

But the bias in reporting towards them recently and attempt to justify anything that happens (booing of alexander arnold, pursuit of Isak, spend this window) is ridiculous. Particularly, it seems, at the BBC.

So it turned out that the reason Guehi didn’t move there in the end was because West Ham stole Igor from under Palace’s noses after he had had a medical with them
Looks that way.
Palace would have been left with their kecks pulled down to around their ankles, knob in hand and a CB short had they sold him.

There was no intentional malice done in it. It’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

But the RS clearly don’t see it that way.

That is disgusting

Some RS balloon on TalkSport earlier was asked about whether this made him think differently about when Chelsea spent a lot to win things. His reply was that it was completely different, that he had factored in a 'brilliant' shirt sponsorship deal, he had then 'crunched the numbers' (yes, he actually said that), and that he had worked out that they had spent around 50m in total 'net spend'

You really couldn't make it up
