Last Film You Watched

I was mesmerised by Nicholson’s Torrance, and the Direction was incredible. I don’t care if it wasn’t faithful to the book, it was a brilliant film. And for the record, I think Kubrick’s Jack came across as a tragic character even if he was a bit of an a-hole, he was a complex character.
The ground is the villain, it just get's it's hooks into him deepest. The picture at the end is a list of it's victims.

I only saw it for the first time last year. I was obsessed with it. It’s unlike any film I’ve ever seen before, the fourth wall breaking, the attention to detail, and Jack Nicholson’s sheer charisma, absolutely brilliant.

Kubrick obviously had a vision in mind for how he interpreted Torrance’s character to be, and Nicholson filled the role perfectly.

That sort of unpredictable presence he has on screen:

FYI, this isn’t down a BBC interview. It’s from Vivian Kubrick’s documentary on the making of The Shining.

Who’s ‘Toots’? Must be his first wife, Angelica Houston?

"Sketch", kids film, girls sketches come to life when they are dropped in a pond contaminated with a chemical, it's not a bad little film, the child actors do a really good job,if you have kids around 10/12 it will keep them interested
This is surprising, mate… You usually post about horror movies.
I think this is the first time that I’ve seen you post about a movie that isn’t one! 🫢

Yep. And coincidentally they were both in Batman. In fact, Jack imitated Palance’s character after Joker fried him. I think the henchman’s name was Bob who he grabbed and did the imitation. Both actors stepped out in that role. Palance was a gritty cowboy and Jack did a lot of drama. This was a comic book movie and they stand out to me decades later.

Horror is my favourite genre, from when I was a kid watching Hammer house of horror and buying fangoria magazines, I do watch other types, but blood and gore top the list
