Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The likelihood is we're comfortable with our RB situation, rightly or wrongly, but would've picked up one on a free if we liked them. Fulham improved their offer, the player stayed, and it went back down the list of our priorities.

I don't necessarily agree but I can understand it.
Exactly it wasn’t as though they forgot to sign a RB
THEY obviously decided that the money would be more beneficial if spent in other areas

We are a better team tonight than we have been for quite a while, we have a better manager than we have had for a while, I don’t expect us to struggle in the lower half of the league this season. I definitely would have liked a good right sided defender but we were never going to cure all our ails in one window. We have a better balance about the squad, we have some good young prospects, all in all it have been a good window.

I’ll never understand Chelsea’s Enciso and Buononatte deals. Both players were loaned out from Brighton to Ipswich and Leicester and didn’t pull up trees there either. Now they’re both going to end up at Chelsea who already have far better attacking players in their ranks.
Giving Brighton a financial leg up so Chelsea can stay on their good books
Would not be surprised if Chelsea sign Baleba

Well I still think we're maybe 2/3 players short overall on the squad.

But Rome wasn't built in a day and the squad is night and day from last season.

So much potential. I also feel spend wise we've possibly left a bit in the pot for maybe one in January.

Mad also to think compared with previous seasons we only have 1 player on loan (discounting Merlin as we've an obligation).

One thing that I've taken from this, we have a valuation on players and we stick to it. Dibling could have been bought much earlier but we wouldn't pay Soton the fee. Stuck to our guns and got him. When we bought Iceland we kept outbidding ourselves and paid 20m too much.

No way was Moyes 2 19 yr olds down the right side of the team
Coleman is practically older than the 2 of them combined
Remove the failure to sign a new right back and I am relatively pleased with the window.

When you consider the failure to sign a RB, you have to view the entire transfer window as a failure.

The points we will drop by not having a first team quality RB in the squad between now and January is genuinely the difference between us challenging for European qualification, and finishing the season 10-12th.

It’s bizarre. Surely Enciso and Buononatte will have the good enough to play for Chelsea’s first team, they weren’t even good enough to nail down a place in Brighton’s, they didn’t always start for Leicester and Ipswich.
