Moyes said himself that it was tougher than he thought it would be to attract players because all the players he went for wanted to play in Europe.

I think thats an easy excuse to make...ultimately players are driven by greed. Thats why you have some of the best footballers playing in the Saudi mickey mouse league. Before that it was China...before that it was chelsea/pl...players have rejected us for teams not playing in Europe.

There’s no evidence. Just assertion. Who were Liverpool’s key players last year? Arnold and Robertson Who have been City’s key players? Any football fan would say Haaland, Rodri and KDB. Who were the key players for PSG and Barca? Not the fullbacks. Nowhere near.

If you don't think Hakimi and Mendes were key for PSG last season I don't think you have a very good grasp of football.

Another ex city man...let's hope the team appointed by TFG starts to deliver ASAP. We need to catch-up, and quickly because the difference between us and the top 6 has never being so big.

To be fair, in PSG’s case, Mendes and Hakimi had outstanding seasons and were instrumental to winning the UCL. Scoring goals gets the highlights, but anyone who watched knew that Mendes was a huge contributor to PSG’s success. He was MoTM for me on multiple occasions. It’s a bit unfair because it’s normal for the attackers to get the plaudits, but let’s not act like TAA/Robertson and Walker/Cancelo weren’t very important to the RS and City respectively.
