Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

That’s all hipster rubbish. The teams with the best attackers, midfielders and CBs win the leagues. Yes they also have good fullbacks, but they have good fullbacks because they are good teams, not the other way round. Everton had the best pair of fullbacks in the league for years but we still couldn’t get anywhere near Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal because they had players like Drogba, Keane, Rooney, Torres/Suarez/Gerrard and Fabregas/Van Persie. You know, players who actually make a difference in the most important part of the pitch. Anyway David Moyes, you know, a guy who actually does this for a living, seems to agree with me. It’s pretty patronising to assume that because I completely disagree with you that I mustn’t understand the point you are making.
Perhaps I also think it's patronising that you call it hipster rubbish despite the evidence to the contrary of your opinion. The teams and players you've mentioned aren't within the title winning teams of the last decade which is what I referred to.

Get a move on Martyn. Posing for pictures when theres work to be done.

Hard to believe some of the negativity around our transfer window.

This is, without doubt, the best window we’ve had since the Carlo era — and arguably even smarter in terms of planning for the future. It feels like the start of a proper rebuild, built on potential and purpose.

Let’s not forget where we were less than a year ago — 777, Moshiri, financial chaos… we were on the brink. Too many seem to have short memories.

Now, we’re finally seeing structure, ambition, and a direction of travel that’s positive. Let’s not fall into the trap of acting like our more entitled neighbours. Instead, let’s back the plan and acknowledge the real progress being made.

This is a fresh chapter — and it’s looking a lot more promising than anything we’ve had in years. UTFT

Our main priority this summer was sorting us out going forward, because we've looked painful trying to construct attacks for many years. That's not to say RB wasn't a priority.

Our priority next summer will be the defence you would assume.
Don't know about " assume" Could be " desperate " to sign full backs both sides in the January window. Don"t be surprised if we are looking for free agents even before then. Very poor handling / know how in transfer market for these positions with the amount of time we had.

There’s no evidence. Just assertion. Who were Liverpool’s key players last year? Arnold and Robertson😂😂😂😂 Who have been City’s key players? Any football fan would say Haaland, Rodri and KDB. Who were the key players for PSG and Barca? Not the fullbacks. Nowhere near.
