Hopefully we will be more prepared for the January window...felt that we were slow, unprepared, and perhaps a bit lucky to have got dibling. Not sure what has happened, if moyes had too much of a say, but we need the recruitment team to be able to make decisions. There has to be an improvement going forward.
Moyes said himself that it was tougher than he thought it would be to attract players because all the players he went for wanted to play in Europe.

You're wrong. They're incredibly important not just individually but for being able to tactically shape the team set up. The teams over the past decade that have dominated have done so because tactically their fullbacks allowed them to employ certain styles of football.

I don't believe going into the season with JOB as an option for RB is the most sensible due to what we are trying to ask of him in an attacking sense. He's not very good at it in my opinion. Defensively he's solid enough and it helps our shape but you can see sometimes he's also clunky and awkward in that. He's done a good job thus far but it needs upgrading because quite clearly Coleman is off next summer and Patterson isn't good enough. As I said, both have had terrible injury records too so it potentially doesn't take much for us to have a defensive crisis.

I don't think we can change everything in one window but we ultimately had the potential to do so. If Tete signed then we more or less have aside from a 3rd striker and a proper DM.
That’s all hipster rubbish. The teams with the best attackers, midfielders and CBs win the leagues. Yes they also have good fullbacks, but they have good fullbacks because they are good teams, not the other way round. Everton had the best pair of fullbacks in the league for years but we still couldn’t get anywhere near Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal because they had players like Drogba, Keane, Rooney, Torres/Suarez/Gerrard and Fabregas/Van Persie. You know, players who actually make a difference in the most important part of the pitch. Anyway David Moyes, you know, a guy who actually does this for a living, seems to agree with me. It’s pretty patronising to assume that because I completely disagree with you that I mustn’t understand the point you are making.

2015 was the best transfer deadline day ever, how could we ever beat this

Is that the footballing equivalent of a girl saying she’d love to go out on a date with the guy she never has any intention of dating but she just needs some me time right now (and is then seen dating the rich chad with the Porsche the week later).
