Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Historically the strongest area of our team you mean? We have retained all of our defenders from last year accept one and we have added one. We have been short of quality in midfield for probably 5 years and we have been short of numbers for about 20 years. Baring unprecedent injuries to our defenders we will be able to put out a team that can actually play football and carry an attacking threat home and away week in week out for the first time in about 30 years.
You seriously think it's all dandy and fine that our best option at RB is a CB?

GK
Travers
The other guy I’ve already forgotten and we will never see.

Defenders
Aznou

Midfield
KDH
Grealish
Dibbling
Rohl
Alcaraz

Att
Barry

That’s it isn’t it, 9?

Defence has been criminally overlooked.
And no replacement for gueye...despite the Afcon. Surely the time has come for him to retire from international football.

No, just the obvious one , the one that's been outstanding for 4 years
It hasn't been an actual problem though has it. Not scoring goals, not creating open play chances, not carrying an attacking threat, not having any players who can control and pass the ball has been a far bigger problem. Full backs are recognised as the least important position on the pitch for a reason. It's where players who can't play any other position end up. Have you never wondered why that is?

Not sure I agree with that mate. I think we’ve signed more starters than 2-3. Also, the game has moved on now. We finally have a bench that we can use to change/defend a game. That’s a massive change to last season where we struggled towards the end of games. That’s a really important factor when assessing the purchases.
Exactly being able to put out a good team that sees us compete in every single match will gain us more points that this mythical best 11 that we might see a couple of times a season.

It’s fingers crossed we don’t get more than 1 defensive injury at any one time I guess.

We have only lost Ashley Young, but he played in a lot of games last year. Azou won’t replicate that number of games this year. Tarks and in particular Coleman are another year older. It might historically be our strongest area, but Moyes has said it the area we are lacking in the most.
