Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

no TFG aren’t stupid mate jib it till then aye
I never said they were. It was your take on the matter I labelled the Moshiri & Kenwright way. Not caring & we'll deal with it later. Been there already & it nearly sunk us.
It's far too early to judge how the Friedkins operate.
I'm happy, just aware. After all the troubles we have gone through i think it prudent to bask with caution.

I don't mind him when he talks about basic business-related subjects, but his positioning as some kind of Warren Buffet figure for the plebeian likes of Ped always struck me as talking down to the fans.

Ped and Baz are just terrible foil for him. "Hey, ho."

Blaine was more listenable in the company of Esk and Rodger Armstrong and their Everton Business Matters podcast during the Moshiri reign. I suspect they all ended up hating each other.

I did like the EBM podcast tbh.

I think with all 3 of the people on it understanding business and being opposite view points. Ment that they couldn't get away with bamboozling the person they were talking too with business jargin.

So they had to talk less and in simpler terms to get their point across. As opposed (like you said) on toffeetv where Blaine just talks in circles and baz and ped obviously dont know enough to pull him up on it (like i wouldn't tbh  ).

In an ideal world we throw caution to the wind because Dibling is so good we can't leave him out either and we go.

Garner KDH

Dibling Grealish Ndiaye

With how defensive Mykolenko and O'Brien are I think we could make it work.

It is KDH’s natural position. Would require Garner to be a sitting number 6, there’s definitely a way we could transition away from Gana’s style of play if we could be better in possession.

The problem you’re ignoring is that we had about eight priorities. Which of our signings would you swap for a competent right back? Barrie - no chance, another striker is way more important than a right back. Grealish - no chance. KDH - maybe but we would then have no Doucoure replacement and I think that area of the pitch is more important than right back. Dibling - apparently a generational talented, those opportunities don't come along very often and having attacking options of the bench and to cover injuries is more or a priority than right back. So all in all RB wasn't high on the list of our priorities. I'd argue another striker is actually more important.
Personally think a specialist RB would have been preferable, and I say that even though think JOB has been pretty good at the position as has Garner when he’s filled in.

Numerically we now seem lighter in defense than attack, especially given recent injury history, and Moyes has historically been a “keep it tight at the back first and then build up the attack side” kinda manager so stylistically it would seem to have fit his playing style better.

I wonder if you could play Garner as the 6 then KDH the left 8 and Rohl the right 8. Grealish and Dibling or Ndiaye wide and a striker.
