Went to watch Jaws in IMAX last night for it's 50th anniversary, favorite movie of all time, just brilliant. Must have seen it over 100 times at this stage

Same, went Saturday, felt like I'd been on the boat with them, came out feeling ropey as with a touch of sea sicknesses! Imax was intense, must be getting old.

So then, it must have been in super high def?
Do you get to see the shark up close and properly?!

Was massive, definition was not remastered, but because it was so huge it was immersive genuinely. Top film.

Still makes me laugh how the redshift fawned over him even when he left

Are they also going to screen the Jaws sequels on IMAX?
Lol, I can’t remember if they were good or not.

Don't think so mate, think this was only one Imax due to a 50th anniversary. Plus the sequels were not a patch like many a film franchise

True mate. If they were good, I would have remembered them.

I mean, I remember someone in Hollywood floating this as an idea for another sequel: ‘Super Jaws’ emerges from the briny deep, so Jaws, and the shark hunters have to team up to take him down.

Someone threw that idea out (thankfully), and someone else went with Sharknado !

King said in a documentary the book is about alcoholism and the madness that creates and the only reference kept in the film to alcoholism was the scene and exchange with the bartender in the hotel bar (that scene was parodied in a tv advert I think but I can’t remember what for - maybe about drink driving?)?

@Rita_Poon - apologies, had to find that TV advert, it was doing my head in. Even the bartender looks similar (to me)?

They are not all good. In my opinion, Jaws the original is a classic. Jaws 3D can’t be unseen.

That’s understandable. Spielberg didn’t touch the sequels.
Apparently, the first one he was such a burdensome task, that he was done with the whole franchise afterwards.
Amongst other things, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss hated each others guts from day one!

Oh really? I never knew that about the actors. We’re lucky Spielberg kept at it instead of thinking all movie shoots would be like Jaws.
