Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

People keep saying this, and the same kind of goes for JOB too. But it’s not about just having a player who can play there, it’s about having someone there who can excel at all aspects of that position. Nobody we have can do a decent job all both defence and attacking parts of that role, except Coleman who gets injured constantly and should of retired years ago
If you told me we would get the players we have and no right back at the start of the window I would have bitten your hand off. Considering the number of players we needed we have played an absolute blinder. Changing over half the starting XI in one window was never going to be feasible.

Not sorting out right back for the past 6 seasons is ridiculous.
FWIW we have had a good window and spent money. It's impossible to fix every hole in one go. BUT it is criminal as somebody said that we have put off right back for 6 odd years. It is criminal that Coleman and Young were actual starters/stopgaps and we thought that was acceptable.
You can only stand back and admire our flat out refusal to sign a right back at this point.

Bravo Everton
Something I wouldn't be shocked if they would consider is Tomiyasu on the free. He was waived in the summer post a longterm injury on his knee which had surgery in February. The timeline for a return has been roughly late 2025. I wouldn't be shocked if he waits out to the January market to pick his best option, but considering it's a WC year I would assume he would want run prior to the summer if healthy. And if he is close to returning I could see us making a lot of sense.

Listen its an option that comes with a lot of risk. Has been plagued with injuries the last two years. But he is a tier 1 free agent even still considering his talent level. I would think we present the best option he would have. The squad avg talent is pretty high with a glaring hole at RB. And at 26 it's possible he gets back close to his Arsenal best, a player I think Moyes would love.

Food for thought, but if the club announced today a Tomiyasu deal (on fair wages tbf) I would instantly feel better even with the injury risks.
