Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

O'Brien was probably always planned as the starting right back. Outside of Tete at the start we've really not looked for one at all, and all the links seemed to be central defenders. Bit of noise when Patterson was set to go but get the impression it wasn't really an area we were ever properly looking at.

Good window and the squad is miles better when fully fit, but as we seen already in just a few games, we're really down to barebones at the back, with arguably questions around every "first choice" too, either with their fitness or quality. Not ideal, but I think it's been better than we expected, with the exception of a RB.

It's all fine too that we are going to still not have any overlapping fullbacks on both flanks for like the 3rd season in a row. Mykolenko doesn't do well with it and we're counting on CBs to be our RB.
Saturday was interesting in that Mykolenko had clearly been told to tuck inside to create space for Grealish out wide. It may well be that overlapping full backs aren't in the tactical plan this season

Wouldn’t take Dominic King’s word as gospel on this, he’s a horse racing correspondent these days…

….was in the pub when he was shouting at the telly and delighted when a horse fell at the last leaving his to win. I actually told him that’s not what a proper racing fan does, nobody wants to see horses falling.

He is one of those noisy types that shouts at the telly. Big unit, his Dad was a lovely man.
