2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Moyes is a clueless biff who devalues young talent like Barkley, Aznou and even Rooney in the past. That he'd get shut of Armstrong too is completely forseeable.

He's scared of young talent because he knows you need a nurturing approach with them that he hasn't got, because he's a piece of wood.
Going to be interesting if we’re buying a just turned 23 year old in Rohl, to be with a 22 year old Alcaraz, 22 Tim Iroegbunam, 19 year old Dibbling 22 year old Barry and Moyes doesn’t rate young talent.

You're talking about him as if he's 21-22, the lads 18 and getting minutes in the champo will benefit him more than observing from our bench. Game time is king and always will be.
Don’t be so condescending, I’m talking about him as the most talented teenager we’ve had in years, at some time he needs to be gradually introduced to all aspects of PL football. He’s been on loan and proved himself, after another loan he still won’t be a PL starter and will sit on the bench gradually getting minutes. Do it now. The overall message we keep sending out to youngsters is “We’ll buy you if you’ve played PL football but we can’t develop you and we’re not going to expose you to PL football “
We’re way behind in our thinking compared to other PL clubs, we need to change that.

Are Liverpool sending their 16 year old winger out on loan ?

Not comparable at all. The 16 year old is at an age where he will continue to develop from training, if needed U21s will still be a useful arena for giving him matching and Liverpool are playing 20-25 more matches than us this season.

Also young offensive players are more likely to get 15-25 minutes from the bench than midfielders. You don't see many teenage central midfielders getting minutes.

Armstrong have been through the periods with training with the first team without getting minutes. Now he need to play matches. The matching he gets now will affect how good he can be in 5 or 10 years.

Liverpool do send their young talents out on loan to give them minutes. It is not unlikely that Rio Ngumoha goes out on loan in a season or two. It is all about timing.

He doesn't rate young talent coming through the academy, that's for sure. It's as though he desn't want to ackownledge that others at the club are doing a good job...

We need a change in attitude from the fan base too

We’re too quick to write academy prospects off. Supporters of other teams get behind their youngsters and big them up

We just tear ours down

I think we have something with this lad

Genuinely think you could put him in a Premier League game right now and he’d do just fine

If he has a good loan spell then I hope we reward it with games next season

We’ve had players go out on loan, and they’ve done well, but it’s not translated to minutes when they get back

Off the top of my head in recent memory; Coleman did well at Blackpool and it was beneficial to his Everton career, as was Branthwaite’s loan

But then you’ve got lads like Duffy (Yeovil) and Simms (multiple clubs) who have killed it whilst on loan and not sniffed a pitch when they’ve come back

If players deliver whilst on loan we’ve got to start recognising it, or what’s the point?

HA is still only 18 , a year playing at a good level in the championship will prepare him far better than getting a few minutes here and there with us.

How many teams are starting young lads of this age ?

Most teams give young players minutes in games when they are either won or lost, we in all probability will not have that luxury. Most of our games are competitive until the final minute.

He should be ready in twelve months to play a full part in our squad and he will still be on 19.
