Fast food gone but not forgotten

The Olympic Breakfast had a massive pile of inedible potato slices. Too thick to be crisps, too thin to be chips. As dry Jack Dee and Alan Rickman's lovechild.
When I was a kid, fried sliced spuds were called scallops, but I think the actual scalloped spuds are in batter.
Anyway, they were a highlight of the Olympic, basically a cross between fries and steak chips

Cannot remember having any of the delicacies so far described, however I do make my own scallops now and then when I have batter left over when making Yorkshire puddings.

There used to be a place in town here called CT’s …. They used to have a huge griddle and flame grill your burgers, also their chip baps were amazing for some reason and they used to sell a lovely strawberry thick shake. It shut down about 20 years ago but if you mention CT’s to anyone over the age of 40 around here everyone will tell you they miss it.
