Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Alcaraz hasn't really done anything exceptional yet to earn a start, and especially now since we have both Grealish and Ndiaye whose best two positions are both left wing or number 10... doesn't really leave any room for poor Carlitos who can really only play in number 10 role.

Dewsbury-Hall is more or less guaranteed to start every time he is fit, deffo. Much more rounded player than Alcaraz and better in virtually all aspects of the game.

I think Alcaraz would be a liability played deeper or shifted to the wing.

He's still young, can develop more and will anyhow get plenty of games this season as we always love picking up serious injuries early into the season which keep key players out for months.

I disagree with almost everything youve written here.

So much so, that im going to bed.
I'm just wondering if Sir would still prefer Alcaraz over Dewsbury-Hall in the side?

Hard to find decent quality in the loan market to walk into a starting spot which is what we are after.

This squad isn't the desperate for bodies one we had under Dyche.
Once Branthwaite and Aznou are back, that should be the end of Onyango on the bench, but we'd also be 2 injuries away from him being back there. I think we have some 'would likes' over the next couple of days, but we've got much more quality than we've ever had in the last few years.

look at his presser matey has
we are trying but if we don’t he’s ok with it
The kind of thing you'd say after a win tbf

Lot of people reading between the lines, but there are also lines in between the lines that are between the lines.

He says we're trying to get a couple more but if we don't we'll be fine with that. Basically staying the obvious 101

I don’t think we’ll be looking for starters at this point. Moyes has been playing down need for a RB all window, and everywhere else has a strong starter (on paper at least).

IF we do anything at all I think it’ll be squad options at CM and CB.

If there’s a young/cheap option to replace Chermiti (maybe the Millwall lad?) then maybe that, too, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

We do technically have 2 in every position, and then 3 gks, 3 strikers which is the sweet spot for squad size with the system we are playing. The problem is some of our back ups feel a big step down or are youngsters who are unproven in the prem.

But even so right back should still be seen as an issue. Coleman and Patterson are our true right back options and neither are really viable, so we are having to play a centre back there. I really hope that we at least get this done.
