2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Winning mentalities and proven winners can instantly transform a club. Moyes stepping in to replace Dyche was the start of it all. It felt like a decades long rain cloud was starting to lift. What he did the second half was brilliant.

Now you add players from Chelsea and City and you see what’s happening. Grealish and Kiernan weren’t just on those teams, they contributed to success. They come here already embodied with NSNO.

Just like failure and a poor attitude is like a disease in a club, so is a positive attitude and winning. You can hear it right there from KDH. Make winning the expectation. That’s how you reach those heights. One step at a time. One transfer window. Then another.

Nah - KDH leading the press makes a massive difference. And he can really whack the ball!

I just think if we move him deeper it gives us more security with the ball taking it off the centre backs and also allows us to play Grealish Ndiaye Dibling in the same side.

I wouldn’t even mind a midfield three with Garner sitting KDH and Grealish just ahead and then Ndiaye and Dibling out wide. Could be some nice combinations of two left footers and two right footers there.

I think you'll find that i wanted him 2 years ago. When we were fighting relegation :)

I simply dont see him as a 10 at all. Whether that makes me 'wrong', I dont see that even after today :)

Even in the Roma game i didnt see it when he got alot of praise.

What I see is an attack minded 8 being used too far forward. I think if he was used deeper then he has the whole pitch ahead of him and can spray the ball around and be that player to link midfield with 3 or 4 players in front of him.

I'm not seeing a 10. After his goal he looked VERY effective in the advanced role. If he can be that player to elevate the team then not many will be happier than me.

I just think that we could have signed someone with the £25-30mil or whatever it ends up being to takeover from Gana - because for me as an 8 (where i see him as used best) they occupy similar spaces on the pitch.

I'd be surprised if i'm wrong about him moving into the 8 role and see others as superior as 10s.
I agree. I also think he is more an 8 than a 10. He lacks the special touch a real number 10 has (see Grealish his "flicks" for example). His ball distribution as an 8 is excellent though and he does have a good pair of lungs.

Having said that he can do a job at 10 and he did so today. I would have swapped him for Alcaraz though (probably instead of the Gana-Tim sub).

Very good addition to the team!!

Really classy player.

Reminds me a bit of Mason Mount (when he was good) though, not entirely sure where he’s best suited. He’s probably an 8 long term and that means no Gana - not something we can afford yet.

Massive upgrade on Doucoure at 10 though and just brings so much composure on the ball, great energy levels still as well.

I'm hoping Moyes can balance the mixing it up between the two of them, I think they both have advantages and disadvantages which will take some effort to find the balance
KDH is very lightweight. I like him, but that's a very big disadvantage in the PL.
