Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’m not as big a fan of our window as some tbh.
Haven’t brought in pace. Haven’t brought in a reliable defender. Haven’t brought in a reliable goal scorer. Haven’t brought in a natural replacement or actually a natural partner for Gana.

Looks unlikely we will at this point but let’s see. It’s a 6/10 for me so far.
So you expected us to fix everything in one window?

Pretty sure if we had brought in all of those you wanted, but no KDH, Alcaraz, Grealish Dibling or Barry, you would have complained we were missing those.

This is not Football Manager.

@Joey66 “angry” is pretty harsh! It’s only my opinion. I’m a no one in relative terms, don’t know 80pc of the players we are linked with but love the club.
I’m sure that if you offered our fans Paul Power, Alan Harper, Kevin Richardson or the like on social media in the 80s back in the day then there would have been uproar.
I have a profession and a day job, but it isn’t about football. I pay a lot of money and spend a lot of time trusting others and I’m happy to keep it that way.

DM stuck in his ways - he did his job last season signing this has been for the fee & wages is pouring money down the grid OK

We reallllly need raw pace in this team, but at times the past few seasons we nearly had 777 as new owners or got relegated and possibly never had a club in the future, so if I have to put up with lack of pace for a season to build int he window or have the West Ham lad in MF for a season then I can put up with that.

Slowest team in the prem & we try to sign an OAP - no sell on fee - waste of space plus he wants more than 90 k per week ? Lunacy IMO

Every season, we have a manager who does a job that season. We need a manager who will stabilise, avoid the April relegation battle and support a rebuild. Trying to knit 8+ players is very difficult.
It wouldn’t shock me if he hands over in the summer.
I’m old school, loved his old teams whilst recognising the limitations.
Who else is there who can come in and win with a squad of 12 players?

Rebuilding with a player not far from being 31 years old & big money wages is nonsensical IMO OK

Are there any rumours at all for a RB yet? Not been keeping up to much but surely there’s at least a whiff
Nothing concrete. Some rumours for
  • Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Lyon)
  • Hector Fort (Barcelona)
  • Kellen Fisher (Norwich City)
  • Juanlu Sanchez (Sevilla)
Fort seems to want to stay in Spain. Nothing really reported for the other 3. Napoli seems to have pulled out from Sanchez so that’s my biggest hope.

Devils advocate here…

Baines and Coleman went on to have very long careers at the top level both remaining with us for the duration and both his good fitness records until Coleman suffered a horror leg break with Ireland

Rooney went on to be England and Manchester United’s record goalscorer having a top career by anyone’s level and rarely missing a game even though he didn’t look after himdelf

Barkley got played every second he was available after Moyes left and he’s had loads of injuries and had a really disappointing career for the talent he was blessed with

…maybe Moyes knows what he’s doing not overplaying kids?
Alternate view three of the four showed they had innate durability, I e didn't
