Goats squad analysis thread 2025/6

I think as of now we look very ropey. We have...

A surplus of ball playing wide men - and I doubt a dullard like Moyes will know how to blend them.

The defence is ok only if we get an attacking RB in.

CM is toothless.

CFs are going to get us about 12 between them all season in the PL.

We have almost no pace...again.

I'm sorry, but we should never have been as disjointed and weak in all areas of the team as this at this point.

We've had a 5/10 window, and most of us know it.
We have added quality and potential, there are glaring holes in the squad and with mere days left im less hopeful we fill them.

But Rome wasnt built in a day.

"Unprecedented summer" morphs seemlessly into "It's going to take time...".

Typical Everton.

You not happy with this summers business?
No. Far from it.

We needed pace all over this team and we remain as one-paced as ever.

I cant remember the last time we had a team with a couple or so pacey players.

And the two strikers we have are unforgiveably lacking in goal scoring ability.

People are pacified by Grealish. I'm not sure why.

This window has been disastrous. We have 3 days to nail some key signings.

It hasnt been disastrous at all, we have signed some very good players (Yes more needed) 3 imo CM RB striker.

I think we will get the RB and CM but not sure on the striker.

No it hasn’t. That’s a ridiculous statement.

We haven’t filled all the positions we need to and, like you say, we still need more pace, but that makes it disappointing, not disastrous.

We’re still better off than we were before the window opened.

Well this isnt the thread for calling Everton an idiot club, I suggest you use 1 of the others.

Seems like there's a lot of people hoodwinked by Grealish's signing to me.

He's good, but he's not going to be enough or anywhere near it. And the young lad Dibling cant be handed all that responsibility.

We'll finish 11th at best with this squad. More likely about 13th/14th.

Grealish + the new stadium have dazzled too many people into beleiving we're on the up.

Ok, not disastrous but nowhere near successful. Not even close.

11th would be on the up.

Look, I get it, we have a glaring hole at full back.

But we added, IMO, some very decent players in KDH and a player of real quality in Young Jack.

Then there are the works in progress such as Barry, Dibbers and the young Bayern lad.

We can field a pretty decent first 11 and we spanked them utter no mark hipsters Brighton in first.

Its not perfect and unless we add 2 or 3 more players of real quality, then a valiant 11th is probably all we can do, in what is a highly competitive PL.

Lets speak more Monday, then I can tell you the precise place we will finish in May, like you, currently 11th, with potential for Europe if our Strikers, Strike.

Oh mate , you do make me laugh.
You are correct on one point though , there is still work to do , especially RB.

Wont be allowed to play the two league games vs city either.

This window has been awful, it's just such a wasted opportunity, the things we could have had yet didn't move in time.

And there's no table tops for the pints at HT, and they've ballsed up the font on the stadium, and the less said about the none decorated stair corridors and to small urinals the better.

We had the chance to take a huge step forwards this summer, and we've gone backwards on rockets.

Shambles it is, a bloody omnishambles.

(I'll be back soon to talk up the last minute deals done, still reckon we're on for a few new faces.)
