Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

He'd be brought in as the highest earner of all this summers purchases

Moyes even today made a somewhat under the radar reference to not being able to play all the new attacking talent at the same time.

Which basically in Moyes speak means someone is gonna be getting left out from Grealish, Ndiaye, KDH and Dibling.

If the plan is to bring in soucek I can almost guarantee we will see Dibling used as a sub most of the season.
It's fantastic to have some options and competition for places.

Think we all need to remember what Moyes said today: it can’t all be fixed in one window, we have January & next Summer.

Maybe they know they can’t bring in who they really want in some areas till later on and will just make do until then.

I agree with his point but it would be good if they didn’t create new problems that need sorting next summer.

We shouldn’t be buying players based on the fact that the manager fancies them end of. It should be driven by modern analytics and this guy fails on that front

Dibling's main position is a right winger and soucek as far as know does not play on the wings so your comment does really make sense

I wasn’t suggesting Moyes-fancied players aren’t available. I’m saying the club might want X but can’t get them till Jan/next Summer, so why waste money on Y if we can manage till then.

Yeah because Soucek reinforces all the negative feelings about Moyes that people have.
Because it proves them spot on and it's exactly the type of deals we made under moshiri which f'd us over.
It certainly smacks of “ 30 year old player who we overpay for and won’t come unless we give him big wages and a 4 year deal” . Deja vu all over again.

Well it does if you think about it a tiny bit. I assume the suggestion is that Soucek would take up the 'number 10' role in the way Fellaini did, and so the likes of Ndiaye and Alcaraz would be shifted wide, pushing Dibling down the pecking order.

Yeah that's fair enough although I'd do what doubt the truth in it, but throwing 15m at at best a stop gap for three years is frankly mental.

And Soucek will be one Moyes most certainly wanted from day one I'd wager.

A loan would make more sense as a stop gap.
Soucek is settled at Wham. I doubt he would leave unless Moyes promises him significant game time.
I suppose if he gets a standard 3year contract that adds another year of earnings to pad his pension pot, as another incentive.

Yeah and Ndiaye started and scored last game in the right, KDH will stay as AM not drop deeper allowing Soucek to go into the centre ahead of Gueye or Garner.

15m is nothing these days. Especially now we have everybody being stripped of every penny they have at the new ground.

It's not like he is an awful player or anything. Not like he is bombing around the pitch every week either so I don't think the age cliff is to much of a concern.

Would prefer a full back though obviously.

Has there ever been a player we wanted that suddenly became available in January?

If we don’t sign a competent, premier league standard right back, then that’s a big fail. Shouldn’t be that Herculean a task.

Oh I think Alcaraz is screwed big time if this happens, get the feeling Moyes never really fancied him - the two year contract is frankly strange.
