Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Ok you're Ndiaye sitting on 55k per week or Garner on 30k, and you see a player like Soucek arrive on 90k as a squad player.

Don't you think this may cause certain issues down the line?
Describe the issues.

But to suggest the only players in a good, rounded squad on the higher wages should be starting is ridiculous. Otherwise quality off the bench, and genuine squad rotation, isn’t possible.

This is ridiculous. We have CLEARLY bought midfielders this summer who thrive with the ball on the floor. One player who fancies it in the air is not a problem. It’s giving yourself options.

He'd be brought in as the highest earner of all this summers purchases

Moyes even today made a somewhat under the radar reference to not being able to play all the new attacking talent at the same time.

Which basically in Moyes speak means someone is gonna be getting left out from Grealish, Ndiaye, KDH and Dibling.

If the plan is to bring in soucek I can almost guarantee we will see Dibling used as a sub most of the season.

Not a non starter, but sometimes starting, sometimes not.
If that's the case it's hard to see it as a good use of funds though. It's a decent chunk of money on someone who will have no resale value and is on big wages. It only really makes sense if he's seen as a key part of the team. If he's just cover/a rotation option it just doesn't seem to be a good value buy at all.

You’re catastrophising.

No but you do not bring in a player on more money by a mile than starters to sit on a bench mate, especially so when for two years or more the policy of the club was to reduce wages.

Just use common sense.

New lad starts at work part time and earns more money than you working full time
