Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

loans are best to get on deadline day because you want players good players that weren't willing to permanently elsewhere (or club didn't get its asking price), think that is the nature of loans so makes sense that they would be more common at the end.

The following players have contracts running out at the end of this season in summer 2026:

Mykolenko
Garner
Tarkowski
Keane
Gueye
Coleman
Grealish

Clubs sometimes like to leave a loan option available for January, which is understandable because you can get hit with unexpected injuries or whatever between now and January.

I would extend the top 3 and buy Jack if there is an option to buy in his loan contract.

And it will be poor if we don't, and I will be critical. But I'd also say we shouldn't go too overboard, as a lot of good stuff has been done this window and the usual it's hard to get it all done in one window stuff comes in.

There's a world where James Garner also does very well as a defensive midfield player.
Completely agree. A RB would have seemed like one of the absolute top priorities this window but, given the full scale overhaul that was needed and the amount of business that has been done, it's still one of our best transfer windows in a long, long time even if we don't get anyone else in.

Moyes has said the money is there* so you'd think there are more deals to be done over the weekend. It's defo a concern if we fail to get more bodies in for the defence and DM.

But at least it'll be fun watching the fume/bedwetting on here :D

*(although he didn't mention if any of it was the Arteta money, the sly get)
