Didn’t know Stuttgart picked him up on a free last year.
Left him out of CL squad as well.
Lot of money for a player with half a good season under his belt.

I thought that, too. All credit to him for his goals last season, but it's very early to be splashing that amount of cash from what I've seen.
Stuttgart have made a tidy amount of money based on Newcastle's inability to get their first target (and well their second, third etc..) over the line.
German's just sell strikers really well. It's a league that doesn't defend, everyone scores loads, price tags inflate.
But he hasn't been particularly amazing at goal scoring based on his statistics, or at least apart from last season.
Yeh he's a weird striker as well. I don't know how he'll pan out.
