Same mate, same.

Lets see what AI says.

A Premier League (PL) club may not have more than two players on loan from other English clubs at any one time, and a total of four from English clubs over an entire season, with no more than one player from the same club at a time. There is also a FIFA-regulated limit on international loans, which is currently set at six incoming and six outgoing loans per season for a club. These rules aim to develop young players and prevent the stockpiling of talent.

Premier League - English Loan Rules
  • At one time:
A PL club can have a maximum of two players on loan from other English clubs at the same time.

  • Over a season:
A club can register a maximum of four players on loan from other English clubs in a single season.

  • Same club restriction:
A club cannot loan more than one player from any single other English club at any given moment.

  • Player acquisition:
A PL club cannot loan a player they have just signed in the same transfer window to another PL club.
International Loans (Global Rules)

  • FIFA Limit: FIFA has implemented rules limiting clubs to a maximum of six international loan signings per season, with the same number of loan exits allowed.
  • One team limit: There is also a restriction on the number of deals with any single club in another country, with a maximum of three players in and three players out at any point.
  • Length: Individual international loan deals are limited to a duration of one year.
Context for the Rules
These rules were introduced to help with player development, particularly for young, promising players, and to promote a more balanced and competitive league by preventing clubs from accumulating too many players, especially through overseas loans.

Crystal clear.
Ai just clarified further for me.

When it comes to international loans, Premier League clubs must adhere to the FIFA-imposed limits, not domestic regulations. Here’s how it breaks down:

FIFA Limits on International Loans (Cross-Border Deals)

Starting from 1 July 2024, FIFA caps the number of professional players (aged over 21 and not club-trained) that a club can loan in and out at any given time during a season:
  • Maximum of 6 international loans in
  • Maximum of 6 international loans out
FIFA’s cap is seasonal, not per transfer window. So regardless of how many separate windows there are (e.g., summer split into two phases or winter), the maximum is six active international loans in, and six active international loans out, at any point during the season.

To me, looks like 6 is the limit, so I’m going with 5 left. I reckon we use 2/3 more of the slots and leave the others open to Jan.

ACTUALLY friend.

There are some rules regarding Under Age players that mean you can ACTUALLY take more than 4 loans.

No, I dont understand it.
4 domestic but only two at a time, only one from a given club, and only one goalkeeper from another PL club.

6 international but unlimited U21 or club-trained players (i.e., over 21 but developed by the club for at least 3 years before turning 21).
