2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Right now Hackney is on another planet to him, but that's pretty understandable as he's nearly 5 years older.

You'd have to be an incredibly good scout to say whether Armstrong would be better or worse than him in time tho.
I just remember players like Benrahma and Buendia being the best players in the championship by miles but not being good enough for the prem. I'd have my doubts this Hackney is so much better than Harrison to spend actual money on him. But as I've said I've not seen him kick a ball.

Would love to see more of him this year but if he does go out on loan I think he’s better than the championship, would love to see him go to Italy or Germany and get some games
We're a bottom half PL side with a small squad, if he's good enough to be going to a big 5 league and playing every week, then he needs to be staying here.

Oh yeah like I said I don't know enough to say who'll be better long term, and in the Prem. But they both played in the Championship last season and Hackney was lightyears ahead of Armstrong

Armstrong will be in England squads within 5 years, easy.

Think an important point in Branthwaite's development was he was learning from Van Nistlerooy on what to do against top class strikers

We could do with finding a manager who was a top class midfielder to do the same with Armstrong.

Super Frank Lampard

He’s pretty far down the pecking order and we mostly play once a week. Aside from AFCON how is he getting on the field?

All it takes is a handful of injuries and needing to rotate players during the festive period and he will get games. At present, he is a a good option off the bench later on in games. My view is that a loan would be the best option for him this season, but we should have a recall option to activate in January should we wish to do so.

If we lose to Wolves we will have 9 games in 11 weeks. He’s basically not going to play for 3 months at that point. I just don’t see any Gametime even off the bench.

I don't think we know how far down the pecking order he is at this point do we? He's 'got on the field' twice in three games so far so it would seem a little premature to make out like he's a million miles away from the manager's thoughts. My point wasn't that a loan would automatically be a bad idea though, i'm just saying if he's good enough to go and be a guaranteed starter for Wolfsburg or Genoa or whoever then he's good enough to be playing regularly enough here, in a way that doesn't really apply to him going to the Championship.

I think a year abroad would do him good, much like Branthwaite.

2 assists last night kind of makes it look a better performance than it was from him.
I thought for extended spells that the game passed him by. Really should have rolled Barry in for a tap-in in the first half but also could have gone low to the keeper’s left as there was a sizeable gap between him and the post.

I remember this coming up a while back that he was training with Lee Molyneux in the close season. He was the one Gordon went to a few years ago , and was highly spoken of. If , as it seems, Armstrong has got the same determination and mindset to improve himself as Gordon has then that’s a huge plus point. By comparison, in his last u18 year Gordon was struggling to convince David Unsworth he could play u21s football, Armstrong was playing Championship football . In fairness to Gordon I fault Unsworth in delaying his development, and am happy now that Armstrong hasn’t been held back in the same way.
The question is now how do we transition him into the first team. For me I’d be giving him back to John Eustace at Derby. A good progressive coach who looks to develop young players. The other alternative would be Preston.

I feel very comfortable saying he’s behind Ndiaye, Grealish, Dibling, Alcaraz, KDH, Gana, Garner, Tim and McNeil. That’s a lot of guys.
