Empty seats when so many couldn't get tickets - how do we resolve this?

Reading all this, it seems they can never get the 52888 capacity in. So, can the real capacity be calculated. Or am I missing something?
Only when we play the r/s and Man U. Their corporate fans will snap them up. Massive oversight by the club in giving away so many of these seats to hospitality companies.
Two matches all tickets sold and none available but nearly 5,000 empty seats. Someone from the club needs to enlighten the fans on the actual number of seats that are held back. Looks terrible on the tv and no doubt the emptiad chants will start against us.

I would have thought this would be possible for a league fixture since the away section has been defined and separated.
For a cup match were never going to achieve capacity as we’re going to have to give up more seats to the visiting team and lose extra seats in the upper tier to create the segregation

I know Seat Unique will be lurking around the fan sites to gauge opinions, nobody is paying £200+ for a ticket sorry, keep on trying to sell them though. Only Corporates will be buying them for entertaining clients.

SeatUnique's allocation has been sold out every home game so far - isn't as easy as that.

The pricing (which flex rapidly on demand) wont help long term, both the clubs and Seat Unique (remember, Everton sell their own too) but yesterday was ticket transfer.

On Sunday you can see one of the areas in the west lower but not in corporate was completely empty, same block empty again last night

I wonder if these are hotel type packages and didn't sell/separate to seat unique as their 'premium' seats are in NE corner upper above the away fans

He's wrong mate. They sold out within hours. [See here] They kept adding more as the club give them more allocation - but the gaps aren't a case of "Seat Unique premium didn't sell"

I signed up to their affiliate scheme, so if anyone buys through our ticket thread we get 2% or something - so I keep an eye on their allocation.

[Edit] He also doesnt say they're seat unique, he's said he thinks hotel type packages.

A lot of these blocks aren't in the seat unique sections, something else is going on there. Computer errors, double booking, transfers, doing away with credits, releasing tickets after ballots are unsuccessful, supporters groups and hotels trying to flog them whatever it is the club needs to fix it fast.
Some of those blocks have been empty for three games now.
Memberships will plummet next year if this persists.

TBF I didn't say they were seat uniques, they sold out and thats not their area, just speculating it could be other premium/resale partners given the size of the blocks of seats, one of them in the lower tier was empty on Sunday as well

The way it's batches that are empty and not empty seats here and there suggests it's not auto cup ST holders just not turning up.

Maybe dodgy resale sites getting hold of batches of tickets and not being able to sell them at daft prices?
The seats in the image are in a similar area of the ground (South West corner) to where there were banks of empty seats at the Roma game.

My mate got to the turnstile yesterday and this ticket didn't work so he went the ticket office and they told him "they'd double sold this ticket" and basically went on to say whoever got in first got the seat.

Even worse they couldn't reimburse him and he'd paid 15 quid for parking as well.

Poor sod basically had to drive back his and catch second half on the telly.

Am sorry thats absolutely diabolical.
Great to see the technology to stop ticket touting is working so well. Instead of fans getting ripped off having to pay touts 3 or 4 times the value of a tickets, the now sell multiple tickets for the same seat and its first come gets in and the rest tough luck.

Did you notice Mansfield had no issues getting their fans into the ground and selling out?

It's almost like paper tickets are a revolutionary idea.
It's honestly don't know why they don't go back to cards and paper tickets. I said this would happen, that you would have huge numbers of empty seats. I never sold my season ticket to anyone, if I couldn't go I would give it to somebody for free. Sometimes people, particularly those who are older, may not be able to attend last minute and want to pass ticket on, current system prevents that. Countless people are having issues with technology, is all of this worth it, to deal with insignificant amount of touts.

Giving out a physical card this season would have taken the pressure off and allowed the club to finesse any issues with the digital tickets.

Am amazed that the club had such confidence in the system.

There has been absolutely common sense during the whole thought process.
