Carabao cup 3rd round draw

City, Utd and Liverpool with 6. Chelsea 4. Aside from a random win by Swansea (beat Bradford in the final?)...rarely see lower league opposition get near the final. Competition even more suited to bigger clubs involved in Europe in recent years.
Even in capitalist America they look to make their sports more competitive through player drafts weighted in favour of the lesser teams or wage caps.

They do the opposite here and across Europe

The exception was not having champions League teams play Europa League teams.

They've done this because the two weeks where the next round is scheduled is one week CL games and the other EL games. Therefore if a CL team drew a EL team they wouldn't be able to fit the league cup game in

Probably due to the extra games in Europe now.
Why not have the 6 CL teams play each other and 2 of the EL teams play each other. That'd quickly ease their fixture list ! 🤷‍♂️

I would be strongly opposed to scrapping the League Cup but would favour changes to the format, such as stopping teams playing in Europe from entering the competition. Scrapping it would not benefit us and would only make it more difficult for us to win a trophy. Lower league sides would also miss the opportunity to play against Premier League opposition, which could also hurt their revenues due to the loss of gate receipts.

Euromillions numbers please Rita!
I understand now, wolves it is, away. Ho-hum, just over two weeks away. There's an international break next week? Who timed that to land near the transfer window, clubs could sign a player, go off on international duty and come back knackered for the season and never get seen in the kit.

As usual we get the worst draw away at a premier league club
Not sure its the worst draw. I`d rather play a PL team away from home where there will be extra expectation on them to put in a performance, especially as they have had such a bad start to the season. Beating them today would be an added bonus that would have them under more pressure to get revenge a couple of later, and with Grealish coming out of the blocks flying, and knowing that Ndiaye can be very creative and Alcaraz can find the net too, we should well be up to putting Wolves to the sword twice in a short space of time. My only worry is Moyes going into a game over cautious and us getting on the back foot or falling behind early, then it will be a different story.
